Watching Monday Night Football (of course I had a Side) and Howard Cosell broke in to say that John Lennon had been shot in the streets of NYC.

John Lennon was a poet but he wasn't really a musican and he and Paul wrote some great songs but his solo stuff lesser.

John Lennon gets my respect because he knew EXACTLY what he wanted out of life at a very young age. More importantly, HE WENT OUT AND TOOK IT.

Jealous feeble fools like Richard Nixon could only cower in awe as John Lennon commanded the attention of the entire world.

If John Lennon lived into his old age, he would have likely had the life similar to Leonard Cohen, but with more papparazzi and media coverage...but in the end, both guys were similar artists.
