Just wanted to say "Thanks" in return. Sorry about our joke of an election going on, between "The Orange One" & "The Pantsuit", but believe me, there's a whole lot of us that can't stand either one.  I've been to Toronto, nicest "Big City" I've ever been to and we all down here think you're great too.....

Canadians are great people for the most part.  I go to Montreal every other year or so and I've never had a bad experience there.  Very friendly people our northern neighbors.

I just hate you guys when our national teams play, hahaha.  One of these years, we will best ya.

Slobbasaurus - you mean hockey?  ;)

Not sure what happened with USA Hockey, but you guys are going the wrong way right.  The world cup team was "odd" for you guys.

It's a great rivalry though eh?  (All sports)

I live on the border (Windsor, ONT), and even the Red Wings vs. Maple Leafs (my team), Blue Jays vs Tigers, etc.....  fun times!

Our talent is limited compared to yours.  I mean Kessel wouldn't have been able to play anyway.  Tyler Johnson maybe, but the WCOH was a disaster for us from the start.  They looked somewhat promising in the preliminaries by splitting with you fellas but they didn't carry it over.  Getting dominated by Team Europe was just plain embarrassing.  

Toronto has a great fanbase.  The Leafs are a given, but the Jays, Raptors and even Toronto FC has a huge following and it's recognized here in the States.  

Hockey is king up there.  When we went to Montreal for my cousin's bachelor party, we were bar hopping the first night and every sportsbar had Pre-season Habs on even the the MLB Playoff Divisional Series was being played.  Most bars had it one 1 or 2 TVs but the majority of the TVs were broadcasting TSN Habs pre-season hockey!  

I thought it was great b/c hockey is my favorite sport and I'd rather watch paint dry than the MLB on TV.  Just thought it was interesting.

Agreed.  It's the only other one I know, other than England's "My country Tis' of Thee" Hahahaha

Just bustin b@lls, Swish.  England is right there with USA, Canada and Australia.  

These countries are the only ones I'd reside in.  

"God Save the Queen" is ok.

 Went to Montreal about 15 years ago & had a ball. We stayed in old Montreal......very cool. Met some cool people that took us to a blues club til 4a.m.
 Great trip........great people.

I'm not sure that I could do that to my kid.

For those who mentioned they visited Montreal (or anyone planning on going) I really hope/recommend that you find a deli (particularly Schwartz) and had a Montreal smoke meat sandwich!!!!  Can't be beat!

I'd suggest taking in the F1 race there too!  Way better than NASCAR. ;)

Or if you could get to Leafs vs Canadiens game - it's something special.  Got to see a game at the old Maple Leaf Gardens and in Montreal (Bell Centre).  The atmosphere itself.....awesome!

Slobbasaurus - I'm a big hockey guy (played since I was 5 yrs old - 43 now and still going).  I think it's great to have a rivalry with you guys - be it pro, or even moreso at the junior hockey level (the whole NCAA vs Cdn jr debate is crazy at times).  I think as Canadians we really rally behind hockey (and all our athletes mind you), because we have such a small population compared to other countries (esp you - 36M vs what...360M?) and it really puts us on the world stage.  Look at the following the Jays get - the whole country pretty much pulls for them!

used to look forward layovers in Montreal, Toronto and esp Ottawa when I was still flying for the airline. really enjoyed the people in Canada. VERY friendly folks AND the young people VERY polite compared to here in the States

had a Trump supporter tell me the other day that "Hillary and the Democrats want to turn us into Canada". MY reply was "DON'T I WISH!!!"
