Profiling should be done in a normal way, when looking for a particular person or persons.  Now days, it is used as a racial intimidation tool by groups, and organizations to twist the laws of mankind into specific advantage, and a double standard for certain groups of people.
Crying racism works, and the politicians love to work the races in this country. (divide and conquer the masses)
And yes this bullshit is getting old.
I found out at a young age, when dealing with the po po, if you shut your mouth, and act like a normal human, you won't get your ass beat.
Also, bad cops don't care what color you are, when beating your ass.
Acting STUPID, will get your STUPID ass kicked.
    STUPID is as STUPID does.
What part of stupid don't these morons understand?

I say let it be known... "If your near our borders...running in our direction, with a milk jug full of water... YOU WILL BE SHOT ON SITE... NO QUESTIONS ASKED!!" After a few good shots... word will spread quickly. That might slow down alot of the need to... HAVE TO PROFILE!

We have illegals coming in from Mexico. We should be looking for/questioning Mexicans.

and that ain't all.....check out this report from Atlanta TV station.....hundreds come in each year from "terrorist nations also....

    https://www.wsbtv.com/video/23438021/index.html

the growing pains of any democracy....eventually personal liberties take precedence over the welfare.....safety ...and survival of the nation itself .....

problem is that most don't realize we are at a CRITICAL and very dangerous place....way too many assholes have the capability to erase our ass from the face of the earth....
SO.....we must take steps to prevent this from happening....if it pisses a few off....errr....................sorry

    * at many airport security checkpoints....you are more likely to see old ladies and children "profiled" than anyone else......smart?

Well, if you have nothing to hide what's the problem?

(if you want a police state that is)

Its people that say things like this that are the problem. What if this and what if that. Going to extremes. I said check for identification.

Nobodies saying to do all that or shoot them as they cross the border (which would actually be more effective in preventing illegal immigrants imo)......

All I'm saying is, if you see a couple Mexicans walking in Arizona, whats the big deal if a cop asks to see ID?

Nobodies saying to do all that or shoot them as they cross the border (which would actually be more effective in preventing illegal immigrants imo)......

All I'm saying is, if you see a couple Mexicans walking in Arizona, whats the big deal if a cop asks to see ID?

hahahaha why bring up such a touchy subject? but no seriously, I agree with ya...profiling is not a wrong thing and those who don't realize why it is done simply needs to wake up.

The police can't stop someone & ask for a ID simply because of a persons race or religion or nationality-unless they're actually in the process of comitting a crime. Sneaking across the border-lock them up. But the cops have absolutely no right to ask for an ID of someone in downtown Phoenix simply because he's spanish & done nothing else wrong. This is America-not Nazi Germany. Arizona's law-is unconstitutional-bottom line.

Common sense dictates profiling. The term is always used when looking for a particular suspect among the population. The problem many of us have common sense and many don't.

And Goose, I've never heard of a cop beating anyone up that didn't resist arrest, provoke the cop, or not listen to him. Might be 1 in a million instance of this but I believe it's far from the norm. I'm 48 have had plenty of encounters with the police, even suspected of having a gun (mistaken identity) and they've never did anything but search me because I complied with their instructions. Again this is commons sense, but some like to get their heads beat in because they don't have any.

Unfortunately it needs to come to just that. Taking the high road and foregoing common sense all these decades has gotten our sovereighnty sodomized by illegals. The line needs to be drawn, even at the inconveniences of some of us.

I'm all for restricting illegals and crimminals that are a drain on our resources, but living in the deep south we see way to much racism as it is and unfortunatly not all profiling is done to law violators many legal citizens both black and spanish are treated poorly by redneck cops in the south and when a cop approaches your car with a gun drawn and puts you handcuffed on the hood to check your ID then this is excessive and it happens down here everyday.

    Kujay,

That's the sad part to all of this as I've many Hispanic American friends, all split over the issue. There just doesn't seem to be a perfect resolution to this appease everyone here. Its either amnesty or this. Maybe perhaps we all should take the Aborigine's point of view of " We don't own the land, but we all belong to the land" and smoke the peace pipe as America disintegrates? Understandably our own debt is doing that already as we point fingers at each other.

Playing the devil's advocate here, defend America while we still have one? We all know what good "illegal immigration" did to the Native American Indians centuries back.

Realistically, this wouldn't be even an issue if the Fed. govt did their job. Funny how no sitting president ever wants to tackle the problem. This would only a topic "du jour" only had the Arizona law not been in the news over and over. To me, this is all just a circus act to rile up the people during these tough economic times, similar to the Asian Financial Crisis of '97. Just hope things don't boil over similar to it.
