Crash, you claim to be a doctor. I am also a physician. Do you not understand that compulsive over eating is an addiction just as alcoholism or drug addiction or smoking is ? Ever wonder how COPD patients continue to smoke when they are oxygen dependent ? Carbohydrates and processed foods are just as addictive as opioids. What kind of physician are you ? You don't seem very compassionate , I hope you are aradiologist or pathologist .
I don't even know where to begin...it's like the products that state they were "invented" by a school teacher. You're a Physician? Great, sure you are. Aren't most people, not just individuals with COPD, O2 dependent? Thought we needed that to live? Maybe I'm wrong...or did you mean supplemental oxygen dependent? Either way, I'm sure in your little office, with your degrees some some no name college where you graduated bottom of your class, you have all of the answers.
Someone is overweight...let's medicate them, it's a disease. A kid is acting out, he has ADD, let's medicate him.
So carbs and processed foods are an addiction now??? Wow, this is one of the reasons why the rest of the world hates us. Biggest crock of S*** I have heard in a while, especially coming from a "Physician". Oh wait, they get paid big bucks from the drug reps to push their b.s. drugs for made up conditions.

I am a physician and I do have compassion. That said, read my post. It states, " what gives?".
I do understand the addiction of food. I get it. I do understand that it is the hardest addiction as you cannot simply give it up, like you can smoking or gambling.
That said, I was floored by the amount of fat people. That was the point. It was unbelievably common on this cruise and these people were acting like every buffet was their last meal. I think they could try a little harder and not pile their plates to the sky with very bad food choices.
This is not an addiction, it is making bad choices. Not exercising is not an addiction, it is making bad choices. Going on a cruise with unlimited food when you are 100 pounds overweight is not an addiction, it is a choice.
I am just saying I think we are giving every person a pass nowadays. No one is responsible anymore. I think people can try a little harder but many of these people seem to have just given up.

Another point of my post was about how they are passing their bad choices onto their kids. Jelly doughnuts with chocolate milk for breakfast and waffles with syrup? Can these people not see what is wrong with that? Even if they are going to eat like total s h i t and sit on their fools all day, can they at least ask their children to make better food choices. I saw one kid, had to be about 12 and over 200 pounds with a huge metabolic belly hanging over his shorts. What future does he have?

and that's where i'll disagree all day, an addicition to food??? so because you weigh over 400 pounds you have to eat the worst foods for you all day?? i see these fat worthless pukes every third day, they contribute nothing to society, they call 911 if they have a "tummy ache", and act like everyone owes them everything.
