Damn, they fly so close to the water. The other thing that stood out was the braking on these jets. The guy hits the carrier to land and stops in 2 seconds on a dime. Plus, the ship was moving when he landed. Crazy.
Cool vid.

Yeah they get pretty low over water. Jets actually are catching aN arresting wire on carrier deck....no brakes. They also throttle up full power in case the tail hook doesn't one of 4 wires. Missing the first wire and you're a goat for a day.

Holy crap, I didn't know that. Everything about that video is crazy. It's like a video game.

This is called "Catching the wire" or a trap. Pilot hits the deck at low speed and then throttles 100% up in case he misses the "catch". You can see full after burners light up at the end of the #3 wire.
Ex military Navy/Air Force converted commercial pilots are notorious for smashing the runway and slamming on the brakes. Air Force pilots are notorious for using the entire runway.

How do you post a link like you did so it is active? I have not seen that on covers for years.
I'm shocked somebody actually thought that a fighter hitting the deck of a carrier used brakes to slow to a stop. SMH
Why, is that common knowledge? As one of the dumbest posters on here, you shouldn't be shaking your head at anyone. Your posting history on here is nothing short of embarrassing.

Yes it is common knowledge - sorry to break the news to you. You seem a bit thin skinned... good luck with that
