Banks around the world look to the federal government because our dollar is the world's reserve currency and unless steps are taken to significantly diminish the rising concerns of inflation.  

The world is headed to a economic collapse. 

Those that actually studied the causes of inflation in the 70s. Will see a direct influence of corporate greed. 

With percieved shortages to create price demands and then alleviated the shortage leaving the price at the level of the percieved shortage.

 The feds utilizing farmers home administration rural developement and housing and urban developement utilized the construction boom driving double digit unemployment,  inflation and interest rates.

Will a simple saving become 5.5 percent interest again not in the foreseeable future. 

But a marginal guidance of adjusting interest to 1.25 percent from the current 0 to .25 percent is not a far off horizon CD again paying 4 percent on 6 month yeids...

What other steps the Fed is introducing will be discussed as the bank governors convene soon.

The FED is too busy extracting the word MOTHER and inserting the word "birthing people" to be bothered by inflation.

Lumber price is ridiculous. Steel has gone through the roof. Concrete, same story. Lots of work out there for contractors but some homeowners are getting hit pretty hard with sticker shock. I have estimates out there from 6 months ago that customers are trying to accept now and I have to tell them I can’t do it at that price anymore.

Lumber prices will stabilize by January.  Might be more expensive, but stable.

This is not a housing bubble.  This is a housing shift.  Because of remote work, some new areas need new housing, while other areas will see a glut of housing.  The demand is real.  People who work remotely would rather live on a beach than in a cold city.  Just facts.

This is real and we got wood!!! live in s.w. Ontario and something my brother priced in the summer of 19 to this time frame is nuts. Excluding labour 960$ to 4220$ . A sheet of plywood is now 97.99$ per. Our $ is inside of .20c of yours but my issue is we got WOOD!!!

The maine delegation in Congress is asking to reopen the Canada in border which was shut down to all but essential travel.

Hoping this would alleviate price but sounds of it Canada is not any cheaper for building products. Where is the housing demand driving this problem.  

I just don't see what happened to push supply costs to such extremes,  energy price in terms of gasoline are still relatively affordable at 3 a gallon here , diesel again isn't the driving costs to unheard of levels .

12,00 a 2 x4 we didn't get 12 .00 for 25 bf of pine logs.... 500 a 1000 for number 2  is still the lumber yards standard price for material.
