Black Box - Deon Cole

I know I am not the only one that is sooo freaking sick and tired of hearing about this new great comedy show hosted by Deon Black.  I have never heard of him.  He is supposed to make fun of everything with a "black" perspective.  Been there, done that.... Richard Prior, Eddie Murphy, Wayans, etc...

So tired of having to watch these promos during the NBA playoffs.  When will it end????

Never seen Deon Cole, but I imagine his shtick is the same as the others that you listed.

I'm white and my wife is black.  Every now and then she'll want me to watch Mencia, Rock, Murphy, etc.  Each time, I'll tell her that I don't want to see that tired, old racist sh*t.  She tries to argue that it's not racist.  I say it is - if it's based on race, then it's racist. 

When the comedian's routine is solely based on race, it gets old real quick.  Expand your vision, comedians - it shouldn't be that hard to come up with new material.

I disagree.  There is no such thing as a racist black person.   They went through slavery.  Hellloo?

I can only hope you are being silly... black folks are the most racist I have ever known.  And there is not a single living black person that went through slavery

Am I racist?  I don't think so... I'm banging a chocolate hottie like nobody's business :)

I disagree. What makes a comedian funny is his outlook and experiences in life. Those you listed have a way to make light of a difficult topic, thats why they are famous. They are extremely good at what they do, which is help people relate to everyday experiences that are edgy and taboo.

Have an open mind and stop being so sensitive. Eddie Murphy isnt a racist because he says things from his perspective and talks like a black man. Its simply what/who he is. Being based on race doesnt make it racist, it makes it objective.

Well just because you do not know who he is does not mean he is not funny

If you do not know who he is that just means you do not follow stand up over the last X number of years. 

Just because you know who the blockbuster names in comedy are does not make you a expert in comedy saying things like "I do not even know who this guy is?" So basically it bothers you so much that you must start a thread bashing a dude you know nothing about

I have seen his stand up act and he is funny in my opinion. Of course you have yours.
He is not "based on race"....If anything he tells more stoner jokes than anything. He used to always have a notepad on stage to remember his jokes because he was so high

It appears that he has gotten several writing jobs for a couple different TV projects most recently getting the token black guy role at the Conan show as one of the standout writers.
Now he has a new show and yes...They have to promote it
I am not sure how that copy format show will work out but dude has a dry pothead type clever humor.

I like how that bothers you to see some "nobody" get a big break
