Best site/company to build your own web site?

We have a golf group (about 40) that plays a four day event every spring & we want to build our own site, mostly for info purposes. I'd like it to be able to rotate photos on the home page & have a posting area for people to trade info on. Anyone have some suggestions on a good site to use? We'd rather it not be too spendy. I'd love to hear some options from those of you that have experience with this.

I would've posted this in the tech forum but there isn't much action there & we'd like to get to work on this in the next week or two.

GoDaddy is very simple to use and cheap but if you got 40 people in your group its much better to contact a Web Designer. Probably cost you $400 and I know a great guy but search around.

Wix?

It's also on YouTube......

Wordpress is a good fit for you.

Thanks for the replies.......WIX seems to have gotten the best reviews.....we'll likely go that direction.

Just one more quick, cheap and free suggestion. Open an account at sportsblog.com. You can register your domain and still be on their platform. Disclaimer* I used to work for them, but this isn't a biased post, just trying to help.

a little off key and WOW wci.

but the recycling biz you were thinking.
if you included a redemption center for scrap alunium people will take all the cans from the streets, the plastics, the glass and give them to you.
you can in return sell the material as plastic makes oil if heated to 600 f
al trades at near 2000 a ton.
and glas when melted makes glass easier than sand becoming glass
just a thought to give your head.

 Thanks gentlemen.

I've used wordpress.org and fatcow for the webhost. It was cheap and everything was pretty easy once you learned what all the menu icons related to. Upload photos and place em layout diagrams you chose.
I liked both of these. But my dumb azz about 2 weeks before my yearly domain/webhosting fees were due several years ago...I was on a week long+ gamble trip that I would compare to Fear In Loathing In Las Vegas. Lol Up about $15k ending with getting home barely with enough gas and had lost everything including what I had going in. Refusing to call anyone to borrow a dime my rights lapsed to the domain name but I still have all the content on zip drives ready for when I get back into writing along with some other stuff I've been working on to add around the stories. But won't do that till I can drop a few K into getting legal stuff squared away so I would own all rights to what I will be releasing.
I take it as a compliment several years later my old site I paid $12 for is still up for sale by the place that supposedly bought it in a auction for online domains expired. They are now are still asking $2299 for saltyjones. Com
