my thoughts are simplistic; why don't you simply 'google' your questions, and get off your lazy azz for the answers you request from others that really don't give a fukc about white or tiger sharks in Australia (they have an abundance of both)

It's not the area you should be concerned about, just your activity. Don't have any cuts, don't splash around, and don't go in late at night or very early morning.
The Cleveland Browns are what, 300:1 to win the superbowl? Your odds of being attacked by a Shark are 1 in 3 million. I would not worry, just be smart in the water.
If you do win the shark lottery and get attacked, punch as hard as you can over and over towards the sharks eyes. Don't try and swim away while the shark is chomping on your leg. Twist around and mash your fist towards it's eyes.

If any have access to it watch the river monsters episode this season called "Terror in Paradise". J. Wade gets in the water with a 12 ft tiger shark and swims away with it to make sure it stays upright during it's release.
I'm sure there was a gun pointed at it from the camera boat but still, looked like an insane thing to do.
