Anybody worked as a band roadie?

I'm sure there are a lot of you and I'd like to hear all the stories.

Ask Scal,, didn't he say one time,that he worked as a groupie ?

Back when I played in bars & clubs I had to carry my own gear - does that count? Otherwise, no.

LOL unfortunately I was no so ambitious. 

Just local stuff but I was the connected guy for certain drugs.

Scal is currently employed as a groupie.

I want one of the shirts that says:

"darn You I Work for Slayer"

I was doing lights for a Dead concert in the early 1990's and saw Seka going up a ladder in a dress with no underwear. I went up the ladder below her and had the view all the way to the top.

Last Dead show I did though.  Those folks party way too hard.  They kept their acid in liquid form inside of eye drop containers.  You were always seeing people sip from a Visine bottle.

Hash under glass.

Carved up a 1/4 inch square and pinned it under cardboard. 

Lit it and covered it with a cocktail glass.

Served each band member with a snort and the practice was Aces.

My contribution to the masterpiece.

My cousin was in a band while I was in college, and he got me a "job" doing security for an all-day/night concert that Steppenwolf (with John Kay, of course) was in. Got a t-shirt that said 'Security' on it, free admission, and could roam wherever I wanted. Since his band was the one that set up the gig, we got to meet Steppenwolf at a bar after it was over.
