Any lawyers or business lawyers in here that can help advise?

I am going to be paying a lawyer to help me with my start-up business. First and foremost we are going to hammer out the legalities, including a letter of opinion for him. What else should he be doing for me if I am going to be paying him a decent sized retainer. I am new to this so realy just want to know what he needs to be doing for me and my startup.
