I have a couple..Had tix to Seals and Croft in '74 or '75.This was in a concert hall in Ocean Grove NJ.(Next to AsburyPark on the shore).Well this town was/is ultra religious and only reason they had a 'rock' concert there was probably because S+C had some anti-abortion song at the time.

So 4 of us were smoking a joint of $15 a z Mexican weed outside the venue in between these tents that summer pilgrims live in on retreats and such.We get surrounded by the local cops and busted..Into the police station we go..There was one girl in our group and we insisted she was not smoking..But here we are pretty high to boot and it was a joke.

The freaking chief's wife came in (Her name was Madge) and berating us for being drug addicts while the cops are actually testing the weed using those kits..laughable but our parents called to get us and the aftermath of that sucked..Freaking cops would not give me the tix as a souvie also..As we were leaving another group of kids are brought in..

We made the front page of the Asbury Park Press newspaper.

Any way this town used to have gates to the city that would close at midnight on Saturday-no Sunday driving allowed..a couple years later a newspaper delivery guy took his case to the Supreme Court and won it.They opened the gates (I was one of the first cars in just for the sake of it) and they disbanded the PO under the Separation of church and state was clearly broken here. Was at another concert and I recognized one of the group that were busted after us and we had a good laugh about it.

Another was a Clapton concert at the Meadowlands late 80's.4 of us and we left our winter coats,a bag of expensive  weed and a wristwatch in the car's glovebox. We come out and my '79 Camaro is long gone/stolen.NY/NJ.Port Authority cops who run the complex think we are high and forget where we parked, but I knew where we were as the car we parked  behind was there and had a unique bumper sticker..Took an hour of driving around the complex with them before they report it stolen. They drop us off at a train station and no trains going where we can connect to the Shore..It's Febuary and freezing and no coats..eventually we make some calls and get home like 4 am..Rough night.

A few days later I get a call from a Brooklyn NY cop telling me they found my car on the street RUNNING and all banged up.I eventually got the car back but it took two trips to lovely Crospy Ave in Brooklyn...

    What do you all have?

I have a couple.........back around 1980, me & a buddy, both about 18-19yo had tix to see Pat Travers @ the now-defunct Seattle Center Arena. We're all set with a 1/4 oz of Colombian each & a half rack of beer. We get down to Seattle with plenty of time to spare & want to kick back & prefunc,  so we pull into a big parking lot across from the Seattle Center, pay the $3 to park, & find an inconspicuous spot. We start to roll some & my buddy lets out an "OHHH FUUUUCK!" I say wtf? Spill your dope? And before he can answer there's a tap on my window..........a cop.
Now, we've been there all of about 5 minutes, haven't even cracked a beer or lit up a joint, & we're busted.......I've got a tip tray full of dope on my lap, half way done rolling one, & a half rack of Miller High Life sitting in the back seat......no talking yer way outta that. The cops put us in the back of their car, took all our gear........& gave us each $20 tix for minor in possession.........total person moves. We were being cool too.......not lipping off or anything......& one of the cops says "maybe you'll understand the music better now".....to which my buddy starts tellin him what a person he is & the cop threatens him with jail.
So there we are......about an hour til show time & stone cold sober. We've only got about $10 between us so we decide to go in & hope we run into someone we know that will have dope.........& we do but the kid pusses out on us & won't even sell us a joint or smoke us out. We strike out on all counts & go inside. We climb up to some upper seats & sit down, cross our arms & pout like two little kids. Around the end of the opening act, a couple climbs up & sits down a couple seats away.......& fires up. My buddy is lookin over, trying to make sure they see him but also trying not to beg. They offer up & he says "sure...thanks". He takes a big hit & looks at me with saucer eyes...."Thai Stick!" as he starts coughing his guts out. Indeed it was.........we were thankin the guy up & down as we got a chance to tell him our story during the break.
Turned out to be a kick-behind show, with Pat Thrall playing lead for Travers back then..........never forget it. The cool thing is I've had the chance to return that same favor more than once over the years.

Mid 70's Climax Blues Band opened for Edgar Winter at the Springfield, Ma Civic Center.  We had smuggled in a small Bong and six of us were sitting cross leg on the floor at center ice.  Fired it up and were hitting it for about ten minutes.  Two cops came up to us and asked us what we thought we were doing?  "Smoking a Bong" we said.  Cops tried to confiscate it and the entire crowd broke out in a "LEAVE THEM ALONE!" chant.  It got so loud the cops just told us, "put that pipe away" and they quickly moved on.

Back around 78 me and a buddy went to a music festival at an outdoor park. No big headliners, mostly just popular bands from around the area. At the end of the night we realized we hadn't planned it out to well as we didn't have a way home and we lived about 50 miles away. We started walking and after about 10 minutes we came across an scrap yard with hundreds of old cars so we decided to take a car each and sleep it off. Next morning at about 8:00am a couple of employees of the yard found us and started freaking out thinking we were dead bodies or something. After we told them where we were the night before it was a big laugh all around and we went on our way. So here we were the next morning a little hungover and we decided to walk back to the venue to look around, I had just smoked my last cigarette so i started to kick some of the empty packs lying on the ground for something to smoke when lo and behold, I found a pack with a few joints in it so buddy and I start checking as many packs as we could, after an hour or so we had found all kinds of stuff, hash, grass, acid, we were in heaven. By then we were getting thisty so we went to one of the beer tents to check in the tubs for some water. there was still ice in the tubs so we just started sucking on the ice cubes to quench our thirst when we noticed a few beer still sitting in the bottom of the tub. So we started drinking the beer and smoking some of the weed we found when the clean up crew arrives and find us there already half baked again and kick us out of the park, Well I got all this beer in my backpack and the dope we found so they didn't have to tell us twice to leave, eventually we made it back to the highway and hitch hiked home and to this day we still talk about that weekend

    Gotta go pee!

Saw the Rolling Stones, my 1st concert when I was just a young teenager with my older sister Andrea who recently passed away.

There must have been a million people packed into the King dome in Seattle where we grew up.Mick Jagger boarded some sort of crane that extended out into the vast sea of fans. He lowered that crane right down to my sister, paused in mid song and handed her a flower.
    I'll never forget it.

Went to see rod stewart maple leaf gardens mid 70s, prob 13 or 14 had some pretty good bud some guy about 40 asked for a toke, 10 mins later he passed out and his wife started freaking out at us, we just couldnt stop laughing at the guy.

Saw supertramp mid seventies gardens, opening act (?) Was playing fiddle right off the bat, buddy of mine passed out didnt move until supertramp encore he missed the whole show, he vomited on a whole whack of people on the way out.

Went to cne in toronto rush was playing, we had no tx, met up with some people also without tx. We decided to storm the turnstiles about 30 of us i made it in but one of my friends got slammed hard into wall by security.

I have plenty of great concert stories but I'll start with a  semi funny one..although HOCKEY and MUGG I have similar ones to yours..only been arrested once but it was after a Jethro Tull show when drunken idiot buddy  sped out of parking lot when I had a couple J's in my pocket..nothing like having a popo put a gun to your head after your drunk buddy hits 4 cars skidding out of parking lot...Learned a very hard lesson that night....Never seen that dude since..Costs me $750 for going out with that fool...Sucked...Ian Anderson's great performance wore off very quickly..but LUCKILY for me...Cop didn't show up to court for my P.I. Charge

First story I will tell you about is a WHO concert in I believe 83' at Folsom Field in Boulder...It's HARD tour...Eminence Front, Althena..etc good album   ......Like a stupid excitable fool..stayed up all night..night before show doing fatties....getting maybe 1 hour of sleep if that... I'm a hurting unit...2 Things stuck out..no 3 ..one buddy claimed he had an 1 EXTRA and this chick OFFERED him a BJ for it..we couldn't stop laughing..NEVER forget..then we entered show from BEHIND stage and John Cougar Mellencamp was playing and we couldn't BELIEVE all the "booing" he had to endure..we literally could hear bottles and other crap being thrown onto stage and Cougar was pleading with crowd...."WTF"..I always think of that Blue Brothers scene recollecting the chicken wire in front of stage..but here's the kicker....

I am absolutely the MOST UNLUCKY guy at Folsom Field that day because I had this fairly hot well endowed chick standing DIRECTLY behind me entire show sharing her breasts for EVERY fan to enjoy...Not MY sorry punk butt...I can't tell you how many peeps took pictures of me with these tits right behind my head...Not a great story but a memorable one...I've got much better I'll share later..

Now, let me premise this that I was a young stupid early teen idiot (As opposed to an old one now).....

Being a HUGE Van Halen fan (but being too young to see them live before they broke up) I saved up my own money, had a friend who "had a 'responsible' older brother", and I was SUPPOSED to see David Lee Roth solo during his "Eat 'Em & Smile" tour at the Fabulous Forum with like friggin' Cinderella (could it get anymore 80's?!?!?!) - my parents are stupid (or didn't care), and let me go, but that's another story.

    Anyways.....

I being like 15 or something had (of course) tried a beer by this point, thinking I was hot sh!t and could handle my sh!t. Cut to the pre-concert tailgate session with something I've never heard of before - a "Bullfrog". I tried it, tasted like a Mountain Dew/Ginger Ale, so (of course) I was like "More, Please".....

Little did I know it was basically Bacardi 151, Sh!#y vodka, Sprite & lemonade. Cut to me wasted, left in the car, MISSING THE ENTIRE CONCERT, passing out, but waking up just in time to be dropped back off at home.....

Good Times!!!! Still haven't seen Van Halen, Van Hagar, DLR, or any variation of them to this day.....
