easily over 3 feet....
need equipment ice fishing can be a great experience but you need an ice house, power auger ice can be nearly three feet and chiseling it is not a good time. ice traps. bait bucket, snowmobile to deploy ice house check traps, snowmobile trailer to haul it all.
food and a heat source Mr. buddy heater works for me.
