Racism still exist in this country and it definitely did then. And Race was a huge part of that rivalrie, from a fan standpoint. Yes, Rambis was on the Lakers. Yes, there were all kinds of black players on Boston but what these teams representing, the cities they hail from, represents one of the biggest black vs. white match-ups in team sports history. Boston is one of the most racist cities in America. Think about the fact that here in 2017, Adam Jones spoke of being called a n*gger in Boston. Not Atlanta. Not Arlington or Houston or St. Louis. Boston. Think sbout that. And for a lot of black America, that's what Boston represents. I love Boston, it's my dad's home town, but it's the truth. Ice Cube didn't create this and neithet did ESPN. They just reported the full story. I was jus a kid and even I could feel the racial tension.

HUMANS ARE STUPID
WE could wake up tomorrow all looking the same and there still would be BLIND HATE/ RAPE/ MURDER/GREEDY RICH DEVILS etc ....
Sure Racism is still a problem , but it's often a HUGE EXCUSE and a way to rationalize poor behavior ...
WHAT REALLY GRINDS MY GEARS =
PRIVATE PRISONS = MEGA RICH INVESTING IN LOCKING PEOPLE UP
Govt & Law enforcement who funnel drugs into the inner cities
Harsh sentences for non violent drug offenders , meanwhile rapists and pedophiles walk free
garbage*y Gangsta rap that glorifies and encourages our Youths to Murder , Treat women like Garbage, sell drugs , act like savage gangsters , = PIPELINE TO PRISON

You're right about Boston... David Ortiz was black in Minnesota, then he was Dominican after he went to the Red Sox

Ice Cube ruined this documentary. Here's a guy who's enjoyed over 25 years of living his life as a famous multi-millionaire, but in 2017 he has to bore us by STILL sounding like a pissed off black man. Is anyone else beyond tired of his schtick?

You can tell some corny studio exec was like, "Cube, we need you to sound like a straight up gangster from LA. Donnie, we need you to sound like an Irishman from Southie." It sells their agenda. Truth is Cube was never a real gangster and Donnie is from Dorchester, a black neighborhood. The choice of Ice Cube was not bad. They wanted two blue collar native sons from each respective city. Cubes delivery was just horrible.

That is one of the most ridiculous statements I have ever read
Brother, did you grow up in the HOOD ????
I did
I watched the ugly disgusting transition
in the Early 80's Youths were Break dancing on Card board wanting to be like Turbo & Ozone ..Kids from different Blocks were having dance offs
Mid 80's to 88 Kids were walking around with dictionaries and thesaurus trying to improve their vocabulary to sound like Rakim and KRS1 ...BROTHER & SISTER was a commonly used word towards each other ...
When GANGSTA RAP Boomed = Almost over night everyone wanted to be a GANG BANGER.... Fighting over nothing , Robbing Jordans & Jewelry, committing felonies going to Jail ....
Any good Club DJ ( DJ AM included) will tell you if you play 3+ gangsta rap songs in a row the fights will surely pop off ...
Many mass transit systems play classical music since it is known to often calm people down ...

Amen. Couldn't find anyone better than Ice Cube to ghetto up a great show. Wasn't Common available?
I came in late on the first episode and loved it. Then I went back and watched the first 40 minutes and was appalled that a show titled "Celtics vs. Lakers" would be yet another rehashing of how bad white people were in 1960... I'm so sick of it, every show that goes back has to include this. I hate every level of the media, between the fake news and this kind of b.s. I'm glad ESPN is in trouble. When a black teenager watches that, how does he not come away with a worse opinion of white people and none of these people are alive anymore? When I watch it, I don't have any white guilt because I wasn't even alive then but the intention is always there. Any wonder we can't get past a "racial divide" in the USA?
Every show about from RACE to 42 to (I don't know what's coming out this week) but I can assure you you'll see the water cannons or the dogs if it has anything to do with the 60's...
