New commish comes out firing telling all he will never reinstate Pete Rose.
Stupid. If the baseball hof cannot find room for arguably the very best player it is just stupid. There are countless players known to be criminals, wife beaters, womanizers, gamblers, drinkers, and gansters. They cannot find room for a guy that bet on his team (never against).
Why is the MLB so sensitive to the gambling thing? Well back in the day, a bunch of White Sox threw the WS. If you study the history, you know they did so as a protest to the abusive conditions. They were not paid at all for the revenue they created, and they were suseptible for this. Modern athletes would never sacrifice that, and the economics would never allow it.
So MLB was shamed a long time ago. They had egg on their face. So they make this decree about gambling on the game. That was an empotional reaction to their own support of a system that kept the players salaries down.
So in 2015 we have a new commishioner that takes a rifle shot at Pete Rose regarding the HOF. He is a child. This is an MLB problem and not ours. They should grow up.
Same goes for any HOF...
