Is there a Bias at Sportsbook Review

just wondering why Matchbook's rating is in a free fall, they were an A rated book back on 10/1/2009, shortly later they were downgraded to an A- because of website downtime (ironically betphoenix who has had the same issues hasn't seen there grade take a hit.) Then for no reason at all matchbook was downgraded from an A- to B on 12/30/2009 and then again from B to B- on 1/18/2010.

Anyone have any insight on what is going on with Matchbook that would cause this? Also why is matchbook seemingly being punished while Betphoenix has had the same issue and not been punished?

 

wsex which is owned by the same people as matchbook as seen its rating fall from an A+ to a C over the last year. Is World Sports Exchange Limited in that bad of shape?

BP used to do transfers with matchbook and then they dumped their asses

ok but what does that have to do with my question is matchbook being treated unfairly or is there cause for concern at matchbook and wsex.

just an fyi matchbook does no longer transfer with betphoenix but they still transfer with WSEX, Pinnacle, Olympic, BetJamaica, BetCris, Bookmaker and 5Dimes.

Absolutely true.  SBR used to be, in my opinion, somewhat neutral.  Now, like Covers and most other sites, its all about the ad dollar and nothing to do with the quality of the service.

that appears to be the case, the sbr forum posters poll has Matchbook as the second best online book.

I always had problems with them about thier Bodog rating for years. Now this was back when Dog was just flat out horrible with payouts and such.  In the past year they have gotten better where they pretty much are only catering to the low limit players.

But yes, I have seen a change in thier ratings also as of late.  But also, Matchbook has had some internal problems in the last year, so a slight hit on thier rating was expected.

from what i have read and heard, the downgrade was caused because, matchbook was extending some huge, "high risk" credit lines in order to provide liquidity.   SBR john said they even extended Lenny of Cascade fame $100,000 line of credit.  i also read that they were slow paying some of these larger credit players that won.  Don't know just rumors and i still haven't heard of any slow pay from post up customers.

i did some digging myself and also found that MB has begun slow paying and thats the reason SBR keeps downgrading them. SBR may put out a formal note shortly explaining further who has been slow paid and how long MB is taking to get these checks out

i will be interested to see what they say, a book having some problems with the new us laws that causes slow pays doesn't bother me like it does other but a book that is highly leveraged does bother me because that is when slow pays turn into no pays

also why won't covers allow you to select matchbook as your favorite sportsbook

SBR has SBG global rated as a D- and covers has them in their top ten. Unfortunately it is about dollars and cents. Whichever website you pay gives you a good review, and if you don't pay them they give you a bad one. Best way is to ask people who have bet and gotten paid by any of these books to find which ones you should play with.

Please source a SINGLE incident of a MB slowpay.  People are getting their checks within a week.

Once again, source a slow pay and I will correct myself.  I can source 10 threads over there that talk about MB paying fast as usual.

I am not saying that the rumors about MB credit stuff are true or false, Im just talking strictly about slow pays.

i can speak for SBG Global and they are a top notched outfit,  they pay you and really fast.  They should be alot higher than they are.  they have great customer service and fast service. 

I am sure there are also click fees the books provide to the sites like Covers. BetEd being number one on Covers probably pays a nice premium on every click they get sent their way from page 1.

I agree with mac316. I have never had a problem with getting paid by SBG Global and think there customer service is better than the Greek who got an A+ on SBR website.

SBR is a business.  They get revenue from promoting and reviewing sportsbooks.  Revenue comes from either affiliate revenue or advertising revenue.  If a business partner is not getting your revenue do you continue to promote them?  Same thing for Covers...they get revenue from their sportsbook "ratings".

Best advice is try out a book for $50 and test their bet engine.... and lines...if you don't like it do not cry like a best supporting actress...just get another book.... several hundred out there :-)

SBG Global stinks. They were the first book I ever used 17 years ago and it took them 90+ days to get me a little 900 dollar check. They also called me 3 times begging me to deposit so they must be looking for cash flow.

Never have had an issue with Matchbook. Payouts within 2hours via instadebit

 

Just curious, are US customers allowed to use the instadebit?
