Please moderators solve this nightly SPAM problem!

The NFL, CFB, and NBA forums get flooded nightly with like 10 pages of non-stop spam in each of them. There's like 20 different poster names popping up per night who create the threads so it's impossible to single out just one poster.

PLEASE do something about this. PLEASE. It's just terrible. Is there an evening moderator on staff?

Hello mgrana,

In our new Responsive Forums which we will soon be cutting over to permanently, there is a Re-Captcha button when creating any new post. As well, a new 'Report Abuse' function is coming soon. 

These new functions will alleviate a lot of the spam you may come across on a daily basis.

I thought Cover-Taeh "new improved" anti-bot software was gonna take care of the spamming BS. obviously NOT

If i have to identify street signs to make a post i won't even bother rather the spam

it would help if they block some of the domain specific tout spammers, but they also need full-time alerts on traffic spikes because those 3am volume spammers are killing this place.

Unless some moderator wants to baby-sit the site every 20 minutes.

OMFG!! This is getting terrible...Now it's on multiple forums..MLB, NFL...

Good luck repairing it...it's getting to be a nightly annoyance..

So the forum is being changed to the new format regardless of the opinion’s of the site users?

The captcha has been in effect for a couple days now, but it hasn't solved the spam problem. The spam is absolutely killing the forums.

As others continue to mention daily in various threads, this situation could easily be remedied by simply assigning more moderators. Many longtime users have offered to help for free in this regard so as to maintain the forums. Is that option being considered CT?

My impression is that there aren't any moderators on this forum.

Instead, this site believes it can just "moderate" by requiring a captcha input that clearly doesn't work nor deters spam.

The spam here is 24/7 every day in all forums not just at night!!!

This site needs moderators who actually monitor posts at all times of the day. Like how any other forum functions. They simply choose not to have any such moderators for whatever reasons. Covers is a huge site, so why wouldn't they have moderators? It simply makes no sense.

What a sad state of affairs for this forum!!!

As far as the new format, it blows. I have not seen one person say they like and many, many say they don't.

Covers will switch regardless. That is sad as your users do not like it.

Is this ever going to be solved? Can we get a specific update instead of just a general statement?

The whole Re-Captcha thing does not deter the spam at all.

Understand the frustration ...sometimes people have to much to do .. the spam is being looked at by Covers staff.  That I can guarantee you ...

But there are moderators on the site and they bust azzzz daily...

As CT mentioned earlier, the NEW responsive forums should alleviate most of the spam. November 28th is the date set for the move to the NEW Forum.

Just so you know, I don't design the forums, I moderate them. I also never asked any opinion.

FYI, I could do WITHOUT new style of Forums.....

I don't need to see an OP's AVATAR or..how many Hours ago some member may have recently posted 

Veteran, All-Star and MVP posters are worthy of "Fly-By"

C/T:  I remember back in the day (Steam room) If you were new to the forum there was a restriction on the number of posts and threads for awhile, I cant remember if it was time based or # of posts made. no prospect should be able to start more than a few threads an hour imho.

The spam problem has never been worse. It's so bad that one starts to wonder if it's an inside job.

Why is the spam being allowed to continue on endlessly? Why?
