I like Cal in this one alot, im having issues though on the total.

first impression was the under,but perhaps the defense(s) arent a factor, 65.5 is alot I was thinking of a score around 35 to 28

anyone have some tangible insight towards the total?

I like the under in this game.  Both teams have put up a lot of points so far but that was against inferior teams. Look for both teams to be a little more conservative tonite in order to limit any turnovers that might change the game.

Colorado slams Colorado St. Kansas slams Colorado St while Cal slams Colorado by almost the same score. End result Cal beats Kansas.

That was a nice win Russel Wilson is fun to watch. Good Luck with Nevada tonight bud, I am staying away from this one, something about Cal scared me. I am sticking with Kansas only for tonight..

Betting on Cal-2.5. Nevada has a big home field advantage (mile high in Reno) that they exploit with a wide open run to the sidelines offense that only the deep BCS teams can stop because they are deep enough to platoon some players and really not lose much. Cal is not going to have one of it's famous road let down games here. The game is on national television and every kid on that field knows he has relatives and friends from all over the country watching. Beware the home dog, especially one with an extra home field advantage but Nevada has rarely got it done against the big boys.

Is 2.5 really a funny line?

Last year Nevada hosted Missouri in week 3.  Going into the game, Mizzou was undefeated and ranked 21, while Nevada was 0-2.  The line was Mizzou -7.  Fast forward to tonight, Nevada is 2-0 and Cal is unranked.  Cal -2.5 (now -3) doesn't seem that unreasonable, does it?

The Bears have a high scoring offense and a good offensive mind in Jeff Tedford. Expect Cal to move the ball up and down the field all night against the porous defense of Nevada. The Wolfpack have really struggled when they have played BCS conference teams. Last season Missouri beat them at home and Notre Dame blew them out on the road. The season before that Texas Tech went into Reno and handled Nevada and Missouri blew them out on the road. California doesn't have far at all to travel and Nevada doesn't have a huge home field advantage. The Golden Bears also have some experience against Nevada's pistol offense by facing Oregon every season. While it's not the same, it's still the concept of an offense with a running and elusive quarterback. Look for the talent difference and Cal's passing attack against a very weak Nevada defense to be the deciding factors in this game.
