I know you live in Michigan...and you are knowledgeable of UM football...That's a telling pick for week 2...Have they resolved that OU QB Mateer did not bet on college football while at WSU?
I like the Texas - tOSU under...I know you and Spottie are bullish on Purdue in week 1...I think the Rutgers pick will cover, but, what gives me pause is, well, they are shitty Rutgers, even with Schiano at the helm...I am still researching that one...The line has moved strongly to Rutgers...
Good Luck on your picks!

As far as I know the whole betting thing for Mateer was he was joking with a buddy in a money transfer. Seems it died out.
One point I want to make is as a wolverine fan I'm more critical than homer. A lot of times that has cost me. Under Moore the wolv's were 1-3 on the road last year. Sooners are looking to make a move and this is their chance. And I grabbed -2.5 before it hits -3.
Don't usually like Mich as heavy chalk but this week good chance, with new OC, they pound away on a depleted team. Might go a small chalky Sooner/Wolv parlay in week 1 as both prepare for their matchup wk 2.
Rutgers not the old shitty Rutgers, trending upward IMO. Ohio had a big year last year yet lost to Cuse by 16 and to 4-8 Kentucky by 35. The MAC ain't what it used to be.
Same feeling with Purdue. Ball State lower tier of the MAC. New coach Odom hit the portal heavy and pulled in some decent players. Believe he will have them ready.
So I'm basically fading the MAC here.
But hey, ya never know until it's over!
Thanks for the good luck!

Looking forward to a great season with you in the forums Uniman ... you and HockeyNight I lean on for Big 10 insight so this Rutgers snatch right out of the gate has me intrigued
Gl man
Hey, by the way, I might have missed some of your early posts on the BIG 10 best or predictions.....who do you think will win the Big 10 and maybe get to the final game?
Proving is hard. Talk is easy.

I'm not much on making predictions, more of a game to game matchup type. With that did make a Penn St RSW play of Over 10.5 wins at +125 in early July. They remind me of Michigan, getting almost there, losing in the playoffs and next year getting it done. They grabbed Knowles and found some wr's and have made the moves to get there. Biggest concern is they lost Tyler Warren to NFL and he was the go-to guy last yr.
Ohio State a lot of talent and a lot of unknowns. Need to see them play before forming an opinion. They will win most on talent alone.
Michigan will be Michigan again, despite new OC, IMO. Passing a little, running often, leaning on the D. If that defense picks up where it left off at end of season they are a contender.
Oregon like Ohio St, really don't have a feel for them. Very good O-line makes them dangerous and their schedule is ok except at Penn St with Lions off a bye. That game Sept 27th may decide who is in driver's seat.
Illinois now has a target on their back, not surprising anyone this yr. Thinking 9-3. But I did put a small play of Illini winning the BIG at 30-1. A lot would have to go their way obviously.
So Penn St best chance to be in final.

I am with you on PSU! Its both a feeling, makeup of their team and coaching addition.
If you remember in the Playoffs, it seemed like Warren was bottled up as much as he can be and the when PSU needed a big play from someone else, they could not do it as he was only getting around a 8-10 avg each play and no explosive downfield plays were there for him
If Allar and a couple of deep threats can hook up this year and add a layer, they could be that much deadlier
Thanks for notions, it confirms what I was thinking too

UNLV -10 @ SHSU with their alternate field. 0.5 units DK finally dropped the line to -10 and that's what I wanted. Rebel D missed assignments all over the place Sat. night but played hard and fast. Betting they will fine tune for game #2 and Rebel offense will roll.
Recap;
Week 1;
Rutgers -13.5 vs Ohio, 0.25 units. Added -14 @ -112. .5 units
Purdue -17.5 vs Ball St -108, 0.25 units. Added -16.5 @ -118 .5 units
Texas at Ohio St Under 48.5 -112, 0.5 units.
Wisconsin -17.5. 0.5 units
UNLV -10 0.5 units
And a fun parlay; All Big10 games vs MAC--Big10 teams -13.5.
That would be Purdue, Rutgers, Wisc., Minn., and Michigan St all with alt lines of -13.5 +726 .5 units
GL ALL!
