Chris Rainey is 5'9, 174 lbs.  Jeff Demps is 5'7", 191 lbs.

These guys have WR/CB sized frames.  By comparison, Trent Richardson is 5'11, 224.  A full 50 lbs heavier than Rainey.

If speed was all it took to be a successful RB, then every team would simply convert their small WRs to carry the rock.

Don't Rainey and Demps need to be bigger to be very successful RBs? Aren't small RBs pretty easy to stop unless the OL can generate Lincoln Tunnel sized holes?

Why is everyone so afraid of these guys?

I didn't say it helped them, I was just stating a fact. Watch Trevathan when you get a chance, guy is an animal.

Also, let's put an end to this Rainey and Demps doing vs Bama in the past crap

2010 Demps had 11 attemps when he had a foot injury, that he got in the TN game. Rainey didn't play, he was suspended.

    2009 Demps had 1 attempt / Rainey had 2

    2008 Demps had 14 attemps / Rainey had 1

So in 3 years Demps and Rainey COMBINED for 29 attemps vs Bama.

my thoughts are that i think it is much harder for the home team to cover the number due to mounting pressure, much less win the game outright in this type of magnitude.. the gators already had a big game beating tennessee at the swamp. if they beat alabama, i'd be impressed. i think alabama wins by a touchdown though.

This thread has so much drivel in it, I feel stupider for having read most of it. You guys need to start realizing this is a sports handicapping site and not a place for cheerleaders. Enjoy the game, skirts.

The pressure is by far on the team on the visiting side, my have things changed fast in 2 years.

A couple things, Charlie himself finally said there will be no holding back and that the Gators will be throwing the "kitchen sink" at the tide… Also for once which is odd but makes sense the defense is having meetings with the offense and vice versa about the Saban and Smart style and calls with the same verbage Quinn and Muschamp know a lot of by coaching with Saban over the years. There will be a lot of wrinkles on both sides in this game for sure, which is exciting for the chess matchers of football like myself (aka x's and o's supremacist)

This is what you get week in, and week out when you are Alabama in the SEC... Alabama is the most hated team in the conference, and every team that plays us always brings their A game. The difference this week, is that this will probably be the toughest game we play all season. Not only because it's away at the swamp, but because of the play making capabilities of Demps, and Rainey. Our defense is deep, and experienced, and they know how to contain them. Can they? We will find out Saturday...

The good thing about this game is, either team can lose, and still win out in their division, and still go to the SEC championship  to play again.

And yeah, that LB from Kentucky is a beast... You are gonna have star athletes all throughout the SEC, who are like that, especially on D. Kentucky just didn't have the rest of the personnel to keep up with those boys. Alabama does...

Soccer is called Soccer in Canada and Football is called football. Football is called Soccer in Europe, what a dipshit lol. Yea man, just because we take all the players you don't want, means I know nothing about football. Great argument man, connecting the X's and O's. Don't you live in Nevada? I hear the economic situation is pretty shit there. I'm quite certain Canadians are taking advantage of your mess by buying residential and commercial properties. Talk about getting hustled.

P.S: I did see the game between Florida and Kentucky.

Florida is better than most of us thought they would be, at this early part of the season under a new coaching staff, with new offensive and defensive systems. The Gator track stars, Demps and Rainey are a serious threat to everyone they play, because one missed tackle, blown containment, or poor angle pursuit can result in points for Florida within seconds, but Florida lacks any type of dominating ground game, a back who can carry the ball 25 times a game, and pick up that critical two or three yards to keep the drive alive. The Bama defense is well disciplined, tackle well, and very fast, and will make it very tough for the little guys to get anything going. Florida must try to keep 3rd downs manageable, and keep Brantley out of 3rd and longs. I also think that McElwain will try to exploit Florida's young secondary, especially if Florida over commits to stop Richardson and Lacy. Good luck guys

I agree with tideman too. Except when it comes to the final score. Theres no way Florida gets blown out in this game. Can Alabama win? Yes, but Florida and Alabama are a lot more similar than people realize. Both defenses are loaded with NFL players and top notch coordinators. Both offenses have dominating run games backed behind question marks at QB. The real scary team in the SEC is LSU. Alabama and Florida are 2nd and 3rd and way more even than anyone talks about. Floridas young secondary is offset by Alabamas young QB so thats an even battle. Im not sure Alabama will be able to consistently block the dominant trio of Floyd, Easley and Powell. Everyone talks about Alabamas defense but those three Gator lineman will be the 3 best defensive players playing Saturday night. Im sure Trent Richardson will get his yards but If I were an Alabama fan I would be just as worried about McCarron dropping back to pass.
