The fact you 2 guys still don't understand the rules is amazing really [/Quote
Enough with your comments. Not everybody is a football genius like yourself. Until you post the rule, then stop commenting. You act like this is a play that happens in every game. Please tell me one other game you have ever seen this happen? Nobody is arguing the RB was out-of-bounds or the defender re-established himself.
The burden is on you to post the rule where it is prohibited.
What if the defender did two back-flips before making a tackle. You say it is legal. I say:
"Until you post the rule, then stop commenting. You act like this is a play that happens in every game. Please tell me one other game you have ever seen this happen?"
Would you think I was an idiot?

I understand your logic, I think he is taking exception to tophog's obvious delight in stirring the pot and being offensive
Anyway, the fact that there are sidelines which define where the game can and cannot be played, it seems logical and intuitive that it would be illegal to affect play inside those boundaries while outside them, unless specified otherwise

What rule do I need to post? Anytime a player is touching/has possession of the ball and is out-of-bounds, the ball is declared dead no?
If you watch the reply on ESPN game highlights...the defender clearly has his right-foot still out of bounds while he has stripped the football.
If a WR is making a catch, but he steps on the line...incomplete.
If a RB reaches for the endzone, but steps on the endline...out-of-bounds.
If a defense player is making an INT, but steps on the sideline...out-of-bounds.
When recovering a fumble, if a players hit/hand/elbow/back/helmet hits the sideline...out-of-bounds.
But, if a defender is standing on the sideline while forcing a fumble...that is a legal play??
Doesn't sound correct

Exactly...TopDog feels like throwing out insults and questioning ones football IQ because of a question on one play?
Its not like we are questioning what a completed pass is, fair-catch or basic football play.
Like I have said, and not one person has yet to have an answer for/proof....I have watched and bet on thousands and thousands of games. I have NEVER seen a play like that happen before, where a player who was out-of-bounds as he forced fumble. If this has happened, and is so common, and basic knowledge....please let me know what other game this has happened in before?

Thorpe you are wasting your time bro. The rule you posted and common knowledge of football rules should make it easy for those guys to understand.
Instead they are talking about, how an eligible player on defense can't go out of bounds and touch a live ball carrier, lol. Smh
The funny part is, youre trying to insult us and comment on our lack of IQ and football knowledge...but youre not even commenting on what we are talking about.
I am not talking about making a tackle or touching a live ball carrier...
The defender, with his right foot out-of-bounds, has stripped the football from the runningback. The RB is NO longer in possession, the ball is FREE...the defender is STILL out-of-bounds while touching a LIVE/FREE Ball...
The ball was out of the RBS hands, touching the defender while he was out-of-bounds still...thats the question Not sure why that is difficult to understand
So, posting rules about a ball in player possession doesnt pertain to this situation

That is what I have been saying all along...you just don't understand how to interpret a sentence. Its funny you insult me and continue to claim I have zero football knowledge, and you cant even comprehend what I was discussing . I have never changed my story on what I was saying...the enitre time I kept talking about how the defender was out-of-bounds when he forced the fumble. Not sure how to make that anymore clear
And yes, watch the reply. On ESPN game highlights of that play. At the 13 seconds mark, the defender has stripped the football from the RB as his foot was still on the sideline.

the defender has stripped the football from the RB as his foot was still on the sideline.
That is legal and in bounds. The offensive player was in possession of the ball while it was being stripped, which means it doesn't matter where the defender is. (If it were a loose ball, then it is out of bounds if the defender touches it while out of bounds.) There is no evidence for the defender touching the ball while out of bounds and the ball is not in possession of the ball carrier.
