Maine, I have a ton of respect for you. But, answer me this: If the BCS is so successful, and so popular, why don't State High Schools adopt these principle, in any HS sport. Or, ANY other College sport. Or, ANY professional sport. Any! Cause if they did, there would be a riot. Nobody with half a brain, except The Bowl Bureaucrats, would want this. Maine, did you even play HS, or college sports? Would you want some pea-brain exec telling you who is number 1? Nope, you would want to prove it, on the field, the floor, whatever. I wouldn't want that. Why does EVERYONE else have it wrong? I agree, Ala and LSU are the best teams. This year. But, I remember Georgia crying about not being in the champ game, and they should have been. Remember Penn State? It will happen again. BUT, prove it on the field in a playoff. You and I both know upsets happen, why not give 8 or 16 teams a shot. On any day, I could make a case for Mich St, Whisky, USC (if the were eligible) Oregon, or Okla St. This system blows. So, please explain to me why every other level, and every other sport has it wrong, if the BCS is so right. Thanks.

The system does blow but think about it thats why they wont change it!!Why because all everyone talks/argues about is the BCS for 5 months.They get free pub and hype!

Sorry. Alabama playing in the title game is bonkers.A team that didn't even make its conference title gamewill be playing in the national title game? It's like Rick Perry withdrawing from the primaries and then going up against President Obama.

But imagine how idiotic this system is through LSU's binoculars. While the Bayou Bengals are beating their brains out against Georgia in the conference title game this Saturday at the Georgia Dome -- aka, the crime scene -- Alabama will be enjoying chicken wings and "Tosh.0" reruns and resting up.

"I won't lie to you," Alabama linebacker Dont'a Hightower told The Associated Press. "It's going to be good to get a week off. A lot of guys are banged up."

Welcome to BCS logic.

Imagine if they VOTED as to who played in the men's NCAA basketball National Championship game and everyone else played in a meaningless pick up game.Just think of all those edge of your seat college hoops games that never would have been.A playoff format would get us some great games and get rid of this they did this and they did that bullshit.

The whole BCS system is a rigged game to make sure the SEC BIG10 BIG12 ARE TAKEN CARE OF.

BCS lovers answer this. What is the point of going thru all the crap and raning the teams weekly when in the end you only pay attention to it where it benefits the above conferences. For example if the BCS is the Holy Graile and Boise State is ranked #7 by it how do the get skipped for a BCS BOWL? I will tell you how because the BCS left themselves an out by being able to take anyone from the top 16 to make sure they have way to skip BOISE TCU etc... and get their teams in.

No thats their reason to keep not mine!!
IMO the best 2 teams are playing each other.So if Okla st played Bama for the right to play LSU and the line was a pk who u betting I am sorry but I am pounding the shit out of Bama!!

first statement... 100% irrelevant to this debate... BCS was created so that it didn't become a "he-said she-said" conversation! so, of course, that comment has nothing to do with this thread, or even with the BCS system...

My problem with the BCS system is that teams are selected for some of the BCS bowls by how many fans they will bring to the game not on where they finished in the BCS ratings. Its not how good your team is it is all about money. to me this needs to be fixed. well my 2 cts. worth.
