Badlands, just can't do it brother.  I will continue to cap throughout the day to see if I've missed something.  But, I just see no reason to put money on Buffalo tonight.  In reviewing their game logs for the year, I came away with one impression - They struggled to win the games they won and were lucky to keep their losses close.  One game in particular, they had to rally from a 27-7 deficit in the fourth quarter to force overtime.  This team just stinks.  I know Ball State is the public pick, and it bothers me to side with the public, but I'd rather have my money on the clearly superior team tonight. BOL on the over though.

One more thing - I started thinking, "OK Ball State wins, but do they cover the fairly large number?"  What finally convinced me that they have a good chance is the fact that they are playing this on national TV in front of peers that will decide whether or not they should get to face Boise St on a neutral field.

I read that they were offered the chance to play Boise St on the smurf turf, but refused, noting Boise's 64-3 home record.  Ball St's HC did say he would be interested in playing Boise St on a neutral field, though.  The powers that be said that they would consider that option - depending on Ball St's performance in tonight's game.  This, I think is enough motivation for them to put on a prime time display in the final game of the regular season.

Good luck everyone...I'm taking Ball State -15 and the Over 62...might even tease it...damn teasers are addicting but i've had good success with them this year in college and pro ball.

BOL, I have the 1H O (31) as the last part of a 3team parlay. Rut/SD already in. As you know, you can look at the school records and see how a team "class" plays each other over a 4yr period. Ball St when not even that their best has handled Buff by 35, 30 pts easy....gut instink wins!!!!

The betting world is all over Ball State and that is not a surprise. They have been the public darlings all season long. They are still unbeaten and stand at 9-2 ATS this season. They have beaten Buffalo very convincingly in last two seasons. On the other side Buffalo lost as a favorite at home against Kent last week and needed some overtime magic to beat teams like Bowling Green, Akron and Army this season. But, Buffalo's loss to Kent last week was no surprise (I had Kent as my best bet) last week as they were clearly looking ahead to this game, as they had already clinched MAC East and became bowl eligible earlier this season. Buffalo is a much better team this season than in the past two seasons, their YTD opponents have a combined ATS record of 66-64 (Ball State opponents combine for a 50-66 ATS record YTD) and they faced most of the solid MAC teams on the road this season (BG, AKR, OHI, CMU) while Ball State only went to CMU and to Akron. Buffalo also played tougher out-of-conference schedule going (and covering the spread) to Pittsburgh and Mizzou while Ball State went to a bad Indiana team and hosted Northeastern.  Buffalo is 6-0 ATS as underdog this season and 9-0 in last 9 as underdog with the total in the 45/68 range. They are also 4-1 ATS in last 5 games played vs better opponents. They have a great offense and they are battle tested having played lots of big schools in their out-of-conference matchups in recent years. The ratings differential here puts Ball State in a 12-21 ATS group. And ranked teams in that group are 2-6 ATS against non ranked teams. Systems of the week: In a Conf.Champ.game the favorite of 4.5/17.5 pts is only 2-10-1 ATS against a team that they play for the first time that season. In a Conf. Championship game the favorite of 10/21 pts is 2-10-1 ats if having less than 2 losses. And finally, in a Conf.Champ. game, favorites of less than 22 pts are 2-12 ATS if they have 2+ wins more than their opponent.

Ball will score in the 40s being in a dome against Buffalo's def which allows over 30 points/game and has a pass def that allows 250 yards/game.  Whether Buffalo puts up a lot of points (and they might), is a question I dont' have an answer to, but OVER is a lock.  Hammer it, and enjoy the rest of the game...
