And he didn't do well on the field? The national championship game performance, as it is in all sports, doesn't have anything to do with regular season awards. He had a great year. Ok fine we will give it too cj mosely or some Alabama guy that saban paid 200,000 to play at bama

Jimmy you don't have more facts than the principals in the case.

    you are going off assumptions.

i already saw that in a story.  until i i see an interview with my own eyes where TEO said that, we cannot believe it.

espn just aired TEO interview with Gene W (i cant spell the fukkers last name) where TEO said they fell in love over a 4 month period of time,

not 3-4 years ago like these stories are saying.

we do NOT know if TEO said he met her after Stanford 2009

Wow.  You have to wonder what is going through these kids' minds.

How did he not think that he would be found out?  I wouldn't doubt it at all if ND pushed the idea as a resume builder for Teo's Heisman consideration.

He had 1 sack and 5 tackles for a loss . . . not for 1 game, but for the entire season!!!  Manti Ta'o, like the Honey Badger, were media fabrications, and both have been exposed as such.

    i just read the deadspin.

do we know 100% that TEO said they met after the stanford game in 2009, or did someone else say it?

i am not a TEO or ND fan, in fact i am a fan of Michigan and i HATE ND, but in terms of facts and conjecture, we need to know what is true and what is not before we start throwing the kid's name around in the dirt

    i just read the deadspin.

do we know 100% that TEO said they met after the stanford game in 2009, or did someone else say it?

i am not a TEO or ND fan, in fact i am a fan of Michigan and i HATE ND, but in terms of facts and conjecture, we need to know what is true and what is not before we start throwing the kid's name around in the dirt

    from deadpsin:

Here is the general shape of things, based on occasionally contradictory media accounts:

Nov. 28, 2009: Te'o and Kekua meet after Stanford's 45-38 victory over Notre Dame in Palo Alto, according to the South Bend Tribune: "Their stares got pleasantly tangled, then Manti Te'o extended his hand to the stranger with a warm smile and soulful eyes." Kekua, a Stanford student, swaps phone numbers with Te'o.

who said the above part?  TEO?  his parents?  a friend?

who said they met after the stanford game in 2009?

if TEO did not say it, then he cannot be attibuted with the lie.

not 3-4 years ago like these stories are saying.

we do NOT know if TEO said he met her after Stanford 2009

Just listen to the radio. There was an interview of him on the Jim Rome Show talking about her.

Story as a whole is very off either way. The interview clips on espn were indicative of them only having a online/speaking relationship after watching it just now. The wordage he used about them is interesting when you're looking for specific statements.

I'm not an impartial mind but something is strange.

Ktrain i her that interview back in October, live.  Rome was raving about Manti.  I do not remember anything in that interview where Manti explicitly stated that he met her in 2009 after the stanford game, nor that he ever saw her in person.

exactly.  he said 4 months.  i rewound it and listened again.  he said he had known her just 4 months, and fallen in love with her.

that puts their "meeting" online or whatever, at June or July, give or take a few weeks.

He said he talked to her every night for months, sometimes for hours at a time.  Phone records would back that up and easy for authorities to track the number those calls came from/to.  He should be able to clear his name in minutes.

Gridiron -- I have been listening to sports radio for about 4 hours straight. About 90% of it is on Teo. They have replayed many many interviews. I would say that there is about 0% chance that this is not a totally fabricated story.  They way they break it down is essentially indisputable.

as lee corso would say, not so fast my friend.  all he had to do was call the phone number to someone he knows his NOT her, then the person on the other line picks up, and they simply let the two phones stay on for several minutes, a few hours, whatever.  this would make it appear that a phone convo took place for hours when it fact it did not.

this does not clear his name.

i am not trying to prosecute him nor acquit him.  i just want to know the facts.

    they will come out.

While your statement about the SEC is factually correct -- I would say that the Teo news about the fabrication is completely true.

i am not saying it was NOT fabricated.  what i am saying is that what i am reading on deadspin does state explicitly that several media reports on the timeline have been occasionaly contradictory.

the reports say he met her in 2009 after the stanford v nd game.

i heard with my own hears and saw with my eyes, that in october 2012 he told Gene Woj of ESPN in a taped interview being run today, that he met her 4 months prior to her death.

that does not compute to 2009.
