Can someone tell me what they think the line would open at for and ND/Bama national championship?

And which side would you take at your predicted line?
I'm not a college football capper by any means, but from what I can glean from the CFB games/lines I see, I'd say this line would open at -16 Bama and would drop to -14.5 given the heavy public love affair with the Irish.
Am I close?
Opinions wanted.

The consensus in that thread is 10 and if that's the case, back up the uhaul.
Bama will MAUL a 10 point line.
If it's 10 and the game actually happens, I'm making it my biggest bet of the year. No questions asked.

I think that line is obscene.

I mean, it's almost laughable. Did anyone see ND's schedule this year and the miracles needed to beat Stanford and worse, the pathetic Pitt Panthers???

Who has bama beat. I'm being serious WHO have they beat??? Michigan, michigan state, mississipi state, an lsu team that almost loses every week
. That's the best possible matchup for notre dame, bama doesn't have speed at skill positions. I'm more worried about them this week than i would be against alabama. But hey if u wanna give me 2 td's with you're horrible offense against a great defense lets go. Youll probly win the game, but u wont win the spread.

Good lord. Now we are treating LSU like a doormat of the SEC? ND doesn't even play in a conference and Bama is in one of the best conferences in college football (not just this year, but in CFB history).
What kind of revisionist history is this???
ND should have lost to the pathetic Pitt Panthers who lost to youngstown state for god's sake. YOUNGSTOWN STATE!!! They needed a miracle comeback and some amazingly sloppy play by Pitt to eke out that win.

I'll book all the action you could ever want at -8.5.

Do not bet against AL in the Championship game if they get there. No one outside of the state of AL understands the pressure the coaches and players are under to get to the national championship every year. The pressure is so tremendous and usually cost AL a game every year. AL is more talented than anyone in the country and when they make it to the Championship game it will be a sigh of relief. They will be playing ultra loose and absouletly crush anyone in the country. Especially crush a team like ND that plays a similar style of football.
Also they have a month to get healthy. Lots of nagging injuries on the team right now.

this is dumb to even guess because the line will depend on how Bama looks the next 2 wks and how ND looks the next week,
let's wait til Dec 2nd and we'll find out,
that said, while i HATE ND and think they are LUCKY as fuck, anything at ND +10.5 or better is a STEAL

Well the consensus in this thread runs from 8 to 12 points in favor of Bama so we'll settle at 10/10.5 which most have quoted exactly and is a full 6/5.5 points under the price I'm willing to pay.
I must say I am absolutely giddy about this line if it opens at such a number. I know there is a way to go yet to get to that point (Georgia for Bama and ND must win over a back-up at USC - a cinch if they are truly championship material). Notice how ND doesn't even have to play a conference championship like every other great/good team nationally.
While post #15 is homerish, he is right in all regards. Saban would walk over his dying grandmother to hold the national championship trophy (as you remember, he did step over a convulsing player who could have died...from his own team to boot... probably to go watch film on that week's match-up).
If I can get this line at 10 (or less??
) this will be the biggest bet of the year by far, no questions asked.
ND will get fed right into the Bama wood chipper...I can hear it now.

espn. put these LVSC odds up last week... bama 10. uga was 3 or 4 lsu fla and even south carolina were at worst a pk .. every team including k sate and oregon would be favored according to them. ND has played two quality opponents.. stanford and oklahoma they went to OT to beat stanford and pitt and have not played two good teams in back to back weeks.. talk all the nonsense you want about their defense and blah blah but vandy would have better defensive numbers vs that schedule..i cant wait to see them get thrashed by bama.
