BRIDGE PLAY
LIBERTY / UAB OVER 50
Think the total people are being a bit conservative here more/less expecting UAB to go w the clock killing offense and suffocating defense and see Liberty with Brewer out after a quarter of play .. we can count on UAB with the good defense but had to peek at their FCS game because the OC under clark is now the HC and little changing of the guard on offense .. all I saw was a team that's really starting to sling it around and maybe just showcasing some of their pass game vs an easy opponent but we know Hopkins to be pretty good from last year and obvi still have a few of the RB's and the big OL that's been together a while .. looked like ALOT more passing that we're used to and well obvi everything worked but just felt like a diff team and not a continuation of Clark Ball .. should be noted we don't know if D'wayne McBride is in or not out the opener but they have a couple dudes back there and feel fine w the play w him or not .. almost want less RB presence and keep the pressure on to pass the ball a little more, doesn't change the play for me..
Liberty played a few slow quarters vs S.Miss but in comes Kaidon Salter who is very clearly their best option now and man absolute gamer can run by dudes and absolutely launch the ball wherever he wants .. there's ALOT they can do w this kid avoiding pressure and finding ways to move the chains gettin the ball downfield or taking off with it .. looked alot like Malik out there .. did have a few passes miss the mark and that's expected but the cast around this guy is great all the awesome WR's and some RB's like shedro and added a legit weapon w Dae Dae Hunter very dynamic playmakers .. may not quite see it all come together in this game but feels like the cusp because it just looked like a diff team w Salter and that pretty decent S.Miss D was finally on its heels in that game ..
A few other things, game is at Lib which we like, need Lib to keep it close and maybe spark some back/forth shootout drives but either way keep the pressure on UAB to keep scoring too .. games at UAB had a strong tendency at home to get a 10 or so point lead and just put opposing D's in a stranglehold burning up all of H2 in a few drives .. Lib HF really helps in this situation for that and obvi for the new QB .. also saw ALOT of havoc points generated by UAB in their week 1 matchup, not saying we see that but man punt blocks, pick 6's one play TD's just ballin .. I could see Salter getting a little sloppy throwing the ball and maybe there's a few quick points in this one .. Liberty did romp these guys 36 to 12 and while part of that was having Malik da Freak in there a good amount of the damage came from his legs moving the chains just like we can clearly see Salter is able too just running by that S.Miss D .. Just too many offensive studs and ways to move the chains here think we end w a pretty decent score .... ok i'll call it .... 35-31 LIBERTY!!!
