 Those were the minimum expectations. Richt basically did the same. He was hired to win a NC and or beat Bama when needed asap. He was not viewed as a long term project.  Frustrations were very high as all their competitive peers had won one. McGarity handcuffed MR with lack of support,funds( indoor practice eg) and all this changed dramatically when hiring KS. Huge investments have been made everywhere with one goal....NC soon.

 Why did they sit Brock Vandagriff, kid is a 5 star, throw him in the fire. Bama and OSU start freshman. 

Hired Todd Monken, JT averaged over 300yds a game passing to close out 2020. Kirby has taken steps in the right direction but he's got to make a tough decision to move past Stetson.

Who knows if it's arrogance, ignorance, comfort, health status, whatever? But now it's twice we've seen seemingly more talented quarterbacks not get playing time when UGA could have used them. Even if UGA beats Michigan, but loses to Bama again, Kirby will have to answer for why 5* JT Daniels, 4* Carson Beck, and 5* Brock Vandagriff sat on the bench while walk-on Stetson Bennett played.

And my god, what about next year? Another 5* in Gunner Stockton coming in... could be an interesting offseason in Athens.

Ended up watching a game bout two yrs ago at buffalo wild wings w a players girlfriend. He was the nos 1 recruit in state of  fla at his position. Promises made... gets to Athens... very little playing time....mostly special teams. She says " you would b amazed how much politics comes into play ". I firmly believe that. Got to be more to this QB saga. I understand possible big disagreement over medical treatment, decisions.    Unfortunate.

 No idea. Couldn't have done much worse and possibly provide much needed spark.

uga season ticket holders( Hartman fund) allocated a grand total of 9000 tix....in a 65k stadium.further exacerbated by qualifying($$$) factors I understand.  I should have high priority seating at a sports bar...at a great price....lol.

Do you seriously think UGA is the only program where politics comes into play?

 promises made and not kept defines a bs artist.  examples include politicians, coaches at Georgia, etc. lol

yeah he's got 4 and 5 star backups that never see the field because of a walk on who certainly didn't impress against Alabama.

Bennett a senior, can come back another year

The 2 backups (other than Daniels) are freshman

So it may be a matter of going with experience

Man that is some real competitive s going on there..

Cinci has one backup, Even Prater who is a 4 star freshman.  Starter Ridder is a Senior 2 star

Michigan starter McNamara Junior, 4 star.  Backup McCarthy freshman 5 star, Bowman grad student 3 star

Bama starter Young Sophmore 5 star, backup Tyson Sophmore 4 star, Milroe Freshman 4 star

As was said, Georgia Bennett walk-on starter Redshirt Senior, backup JT Daniels Junior 5 star, Beck Freshman 4 star, Vandagriff Freshman 5 star

Wow.

So you got a 2 star Ridder Cinci vs a 5 star Young Bama

The other game a walkon Bennett Georgia vs a 4 start McNamara Michigan

And some upset backups at Georgia.

They are stuck in 2008 by choice though because of Kirby, they could actually have already taken bama over by now if they had a decent game day coach.. I hope they keep him there forever as a Gator fan, sure he can recruit but that's cute when it comes to beating good coached teams.. As we all saw on display again

Recruiting has never been Georgia's problem in my life time, it's always been bad coaching and player personnel decisions.  

Recruiting at Kirby's level probably beats 95% of other schools in the country. Recruiting should be the head coaches primary function tbh; let the coordinators come up with the game plans.

Georgia plays in the SEC EAST....Who exactly is in that division...Florida..Kentucky..

The SEC West is LOADED.....Winning the East and playing in the SEC ship game should be automatic for Georgia year in year out...If Georgia was in the West...Kirby would be gone by now......
