I’m a die hard bama fan but would like to say I’m also good at being unbiased. Look, I’m aware of the absolute dominance Georgia has performed all year. I saw that they’ve only allowed like 69 points all year, 14 coming from pick-six’s on offense. At first look everyone would think, “Oh -6.5 Georgia? That’s an easy one” I challenge you to critically think about every factor. Who’s the head coach of the team playing Georgia? The greatest head coach in CFB history. Where are they playing? Atlanta. Aka Bama’s second home field (where they’ve beat Georgia the past idk how many times). Another factor no one’s talking about is how Bama has experience fighting hard to win a lot of these games down the stretch. Georgia hasn’t been tested all year. What if Bama is up at the half or in the 4th? Georgia might not know what to do. Look I’m not saying to take one side or the other, I think the best play is no play. Bama is built for these big games and Georgia hasn’t performed in them the past few years. I understand this is a different team, and if any Georgia team can win the championship, it’s this one. Bama (as an entire team) made a decision late in the 4th last week that they wanted to keep their hopes of a championship alive and they overcame extreme adversity to comeback and win. I believe that is one of the scariest things about a team. Will they carry that over to this week? I believe the locker room is all on the same page and Saban will have them we’ll prepared. The only worry I have as a Bama fan is the O-line. They’re horrible this year and if they don’t come out playing hard, Bryce isn’t going to have time to throw (which is the only option with our current run game). It should be a game for the ages.

Everyone just keeps on forgetting, this year doesn't have nothing to do with the past. Sabans defense is awful, for the 3rd straight year.. He obviously is getting closed in on by everyone around them, all the bad teams have been competing with them now and JIMBO FISHER just beat him with an AWFUL back up QB..

Even worse Bama's soft on BOTH sides of the ball up front

Scheme ain't gonna matter in this game, UGA will bully the shit out of Bama. The same way they've been doing the bullying for over a decade, the tide has turned.

Nick Saban wishes he was coaching this Georgia team, no doubt about it. You can see the heart break in his eyes knowing he fell for the "high flying offense" gimmick instead of sticking to his roots of dominant defenses. He's been handing out participation trophies all year knowing this Bama team just isn't as good; he's enjoying the little things instead of demanding utter domination. 11 sacks the last 2 weeks against defensive lines far inferior to Georgia, 1 healthy RB, and 57 pts allowed to UGA's 10 against the same teams.

Bama will be back next year, don't worry. But Saturday could get ugly...

But it does matter. Saban will almost undoubtedly outcoach Kirby....Maybe this is the year UGA finally has the talent to overcome the coaching disparity.....maybe....

Yep - Georgia is built like a more traditional Bama team that existed before Kiffin.   GPlay lights out D and run the ball down your throats…Saban does not have the freakish skilled position players to bail out deficiencies like in the recent past…granted he has some good resources but a few steps back..,

Big difference is the OL and the running game. In 2020, the Bama OL and Najee Harris absolutely wore down UGA in the second half. And yeah, Jones and company went off too but that's because UGA had to respect how much Harris was dominating the game. Been saying it all week, Robinson not playing or certainly not being 100% is gigantic. And the fact their OL hasn't been very good all year is even more telling. UGA will be able to drop 7 or 8 without fear of a strong run game, they will likely get pressure with just 4 as Arkansas did repeatedly.

Everyone keeps hanging on to the idea that UGA hasn't been tested. When does "tested" turn into "maybe there are some deficiencies"? Bama's last 3 SEC games were all one score games against teams with a combined record of 20-16

"The only worry I have as a Bama fan is the O-line. They’re horrible this year"

If this is actually true, and you're familiar with Georgia's defense, then Georgia wins by 30+ points.

Tied hasn’t and will not turn until Georgia and Kirby prove that they can win a big game against Saban.

Even worse Bama's soft on BOTH sides of the ball up front

You sure about that?  No doubt that Alabama has problems on the right side of their o-line, particularly pass blocking.  Defense is another story.  Georgia is the #3 team in the nation against the run.  Guess who's #4?  Alabama.   Also, Georgia is tied with Clemson for 5th in the nation in QB sacks with 41.  Alabama is #3 nationwide in total team sacks with 43. Alabama's problems have been consistency.  They are mediocre on occasions.  But, when they are good, they are as good as Georgia on defense. Alabama held Ole Miss and Miss. St. to less than 300 yards of total offense, and they held Tennessee to 2/13 on 3rd down conversions and 10 total 1st downs.  That's three of the top 5 offenses in the SEC.  Bennett had better be good because it's not likely that Georgia is just going to line up and knock Alabama off the football.

The handicap for this game has already been revealed when you look at the total.  Georgia has all pro talent on defense and they are happy to run run run and minimize any mistakes/turnovers.  Knowing they have such an edge as soon as they can build a lead they will just lean on the defense.  Both teams will struggle to score. The value was on the under and it is gone now, the only position left is to take Alabama if it goes over 7 or pass.

Keep watching the next 5 years... it's not sustainable. Football is ever evolving and now what we're seeing is that teams that opted to focus on the high powered offense are all soft. We were in an era of unprecedented QB/WR play and that's not the norm. Reality is that a dynamic QB is sporadic and not nearly as common. Is it just pure coincidence that Alabama, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Clemson ALL took a step back in the same year?? And the CFP will be filled with teams who chose rather to focus on physicality?? I'm not saying that the offense doesn't have it's place or that teams that focus on that won't win again; the rules still favor that side of the ball. It's just not a reliable model year in, year out.

everything is cyclical, for sure. But to say it isn’t sustainable I don’t think it true. Yes, you’re going to have teams regress, it’s how the world works. But we won’t be seeing a 9-6 national championship game again. Offensives have evolved and so has the mindset on what traits players need to have to play certain positions.
I’m not saying we will be seeing offenses like the LSU 2019 one again soon. But an offense is always going to have the advantage over the defense and that’s why this “gimmick” works and is here to stay.

Maybe I’ll be wrong and this type of team that Georgia displays will become the norm. But I doubt it. Next year we will have 2+ teams in the playoff with extremely explosive offenses and they will inevitably beat the team with the “outstanding” defense.

As much as people want to make this saban vs kirby the analysis is simple. If u can't control the line of scrimmage you r on trouble. Bama easily could have 3 losses but saban thus far has done one of his best jobs coaching with this team.

It is rather obvious this is one of the worst offensive lines bama has had since I can remember. They cant run the ball. They also cant protect the QB.

As good of a coach saban is and trust me he is the best they will be unable to overcome a team who is superior on both sides of the line. I will gladly lay less than a TD. Bama obviously gets a lot of respect from vegas and they have made a lot of wallets fat the last decade. Not this Saturday.

If not for Run Lindsey Run play back 40 plus years ago, we would be talking 80 years Georgia on winning anything. So shut up and do something. Saban is your daddy!

Here is how I look at the game

First off Bama is off an awful performance but they escaped Auburn with a win. Love taking a quality team off a rare bad game

when u get into numbers, Georgia allows a ridiculous 6.6 pts per game and 79 yards rushing a game.

bama also 80 yards rushing per game. I think this is very important bc Geoegia shouldn’t be able to run all over the Tide’s stout run D. Which should make the game close throughout and Bennett will actually have to make key throws on third and 7 etc

Georgia D has not faced an offense like Bama. I am sure Saban is challenging his offensive line to step up this week after what the Auburn front did to them

Bryce young 40TD 4INT and bama is good running the football too. Two great WR etc

the difference here is it’s not like Georgia has better athletes then bama or are bigger than them etc

factor in 80% of the bets are on uga at -6.5 and I feel bama at +6.5, +7 (which it might go to Saturday) is a tremendous bet

when do u get a team like bama as a touchdown underdog?

First game as an underdog in 6 years or whatever. I think people are just sick of Bama and Georgia has been impressive all year but these are even teams

the best thing that could have happened to bama was a close game last week

if they had beaten auburn 49-10 I wouldn’t feel as confident in them as I do now

If Bama plays there “A” game they will win outright by DD

historically betting on powerhouse teams as underdogs is a winning formula

Georgia is a machine this year no doubt but if the game is close late who do u trust more Bennett and Kirby or Young and Saban?

again the biggest factor IMO why bama is a great bet is the run defense which gives up 1 more yard per game then the vaunted Georgia D

Now Georgia can go out and run for 250 yards if they do they will win by 20 but based on the analytics these are fairly even teams and +6.5 +7 is a gift

bama averages 60 yards per game more on offense and gives up only around 60 more yards per game then this great Georgia d overall

Now Georgia can go out and run for 250 yards if they do they will win by 20 but based on the analytics these are fairly even teams and +6.5 +7 is a gift

bama averages 60 yards per game more on offense and gives up only around 60 more yards per game then this great Georgia d overall

Hard to not take Georgia in this one, but betting against Saban as a dog is scary, not sure what his record is as a dog, I know Urban Meyer was 7-0 as a dog (not that that matters).

Georgia has been rolling all year and Bama almost lost to Auburn, they struggled against Florida after going up like 21-0, barely hanging on to win.

Gun to my head I would take Georgia, this should be there game, but just like betting against Meyer and Belicheck as dogs, it usually doesn't end well, so it would not surprise me one bit if Saban pulls out the victory and wins the national title, he is that good.

The great ones always show up a dogs, when the cards are stacked against them.

Good luck everyone, don't bet this one over your head, it could go either way.

    @TRAIN69

If that is the case, why has the offense worked so well with the midget at QB? Kirby has absolutely NO HAND in the offense if you have watched them this year.

Proving is hard. Talk is easy.
