I think Florida is the most over rated.. LSU is the only team in the top 40 they beat.. and they lost at home to an ole miss team while they were 25 point favorites...

Are you freaking kidding me??? Florida, the most overrated team

Did you look at USC? Beaten by a nonranked opponent as #1, a position that was gift-wrapped to them, as 25pt favorite. They were beaten by one, little man. They played no on else, that will be ranked by the time they get to them.

The fact that Florida raped LSU, is a testament on how they will finished the season. No one in the country, will slow them down, at least not their offense. When Tebow made that speech after the Ole Miss loss, I watched and listened to his words, word for word, and believe that he can back it up. It was in the 4th quarter of the Arkansas game, where I knew they were going to give LSU a rude-awakening, and so will everyone else on their schedule.

Mark my words, they will be in THE GAME.

Not only can I make a case that Oregon St is better than Ole Miss.. I can guarantee that it is harder to play the beavers in Corvalis than it is to beat the Rebels at home..

USC also beat Ohio St.. who is ranked above LSU.. 35-3! plus they beat Oregon by 30+ and shut out Arizona St 28-0 even with 5 TO's...

USC would be a TD faves against FLA.. but it doesnt matter b/c FLA will lose @ Georgia anyways...

Atleast they got it right with the #1 team. I don't think there is any doubt Texas is the #1 team in the nation right now. But for how long, I think Mizzou beats them this saturday. I got a feeling this is going to be one of those years where someone is left out of the championship game that should be playing.

here's just an opinion. J.Rogers was able to run over USC behind Oregon St O-line. I think its safe to say that UF has a much better O-line than O. St. as well as Rainey and Demps coming out of the backfield. BIG Advantage to UF. Harvin from UF is also MUCH better and more dangerous than O. St WR Strouther. Once again Advantage UF. And really it would be pointless to even attempt to compare Mauvo to Tebow. Only sophomore to ever win Heisman. Nuff said!

Point is, what would UF do to that same USC team that could in no way handle Oregon St.? USC is a VERY good team but its not hard when the competition oftentimes is soft and ALWAYS less talented. USC rarely play a team equally as talented containing as many playmakers as they have. Please don't think that USC could play in the SEC every week w/o losing games as well as players due to injury and still have to play a tough opponent every week.

Also as a side note. Just a little info about that HIGHLY TOUTED USC BACKFIELD they SUPPOSEDLY have. Through 5 games they have rushed for a total of 5 TD's not counting M. Sanchez's 1TD.
    Johnson has 3TD's 1@Virginia  1@Oregon 1@Ariz. St.
    Gable has 1@Virginia
    Bradford has 1@Virginia
McKnight has yet to score 1 rushing TD
Are you kidding me, any other team would be crucified if they were touted as having four GREAT RB's and had this many TD's through as many games. Once again, we continuously hear about these great backs for USC and how dangerous they are, yet the stats don't lie. Stats are not opinionated, people are. Stats don't show emotions, humans do.

USC has some GOOD talent, but honestly, I don't see these RB's doing nearly as good against the SEC OR Big 12 as they are against the WEAK Pac 10. That's even if you think they are doing so good.

Forgot to add 1 more thing. We don't hear nearly as much about OKL. St. Consider this, they have rushed for 16 TD's this season, not including 6 TD's by their QB's.

    THAT'S 16 TD's by 3 RB's!

Of course you might suffice that maybe they don't throw as much as USC. USC has thrown for 16 TD's and Okie St. has thrown for 12.

USC has some GOOD RB's but that are not the ELITE backs that the media attempts to have the country believe.

Now I'll get off my soapbox.

I honestly think, Coach Meyers did not fully understood, the amount of speed and talents he had, until the 4th quarter of the Arkansas game.

Look back at all the previous games, before the Arkansas matchup. Tebow and Harvin had most of the rushing carries. Now look at the Arkansas game, especially the 4th quarter, when Demps (the fastest player in college football) and Rainey were invovled.

After that 4th quarter, I knew Florida had just discover something special, and that's utilizing all the speed they have on the team, instead of relying on Harvin alone.

Now look at the LSU game. They gave all their speedy players a chance to run the ball. Everyone runs fast, but differently. LSU was caught in a bad place, at a bad time. If they played Florida before the Arkansas game, it would be much closer. LSU defense can contain 1 or two 4.3speed runner at a time, but not a handful, and that goes for most team if not every team in the country.

Just to give everyone an idea on how fast Florida is:

    1. they have 12 players who can run the 40 in 4.4secs or faster, IIRC
    2. 8 of them can run the 40 in 4.3secs or faster
    3. 6 of the 4.3speedsters are on offense, two plays cornerbacks
    4. 2 of the 4.3speedsters can run 4.2s
    5. 1 of the 4.2 is the fastest man in college football.
    6. that leaves us with 4 others guys, but they can only run 4.4, so they don't need to be mention.

Most teams in the country couldn't contain Pat White of West Virginia, who runs a 4.4, and he's just one guy on the field. Now you have 6 to choose from, 12 if you get greedy.

So for all of those who said LSU was exposed, or a fraud, you should thank them for playing the Gators first. Because LSU does have one of the best and fastest defense in the nation, and they just show you how great and fast Florida really is, without any doubt.

Crush??? Why u say that? Is it cause UGA loss to an #8 ranked Bama team & down 31-0 at the half..& then in the 2nd half scored 30pts to Bama 11pts? Or the FACT that USC loss to an UNRANKED Or.St (with a losing record) team who hung 21 unanswer pts on them at the half. Please dude..USC havent played anyone close to the talent of Stafford & Moreno nor there defense..and please dont say USC beat Ohio St. cause IMO they were overrated a lil bit from the start just because Beenie Wells is on the team! Please tell me why they well "CRUSH" them sir???

Why should we even give a flying fuck about the rankings....the rankings are completely subjective ...a popularity contest........and it will remain this way until they vote yes on a playoff system in 2012. As long as I come out ahead each Saturday, the old timers can put whoever they want at #1, I really don't care.

USC is pathetic.look at how they play Arz St...sanchez threw a bunch of int's and the plays arent that impressive...yes they won but its against the arz st where the whole team is plague with injuries. There should be no way that usc can pass Texas Tech in the polls..thats just ridiculous.

AMD - Is there going to be a playoff system in 2012? It's about time. Everyone knows the BCS is BS. But I have to disagree with a lot of you guys and I think USC is still one of the best teams in the country. Every team usually has one bad game during a season. Texas and Penn State haven't had a bad game yet, but there are still games to be played. Alabama had a bad game two weeks ago when they barely beat Kentucky.

I think USC is where they should be. They are better than the undefeated teams behind them. Texas Tech almost lost to a crappy Nebraska team at home last week. And lets not talk about how good Georgia is please. They got clowned at home vs Alabama and couldn't even cover the spread against a crappy Tennessee team.

Dyounger I know that BYU is probably a little higher than they should be, but I'm fine with BYU going to a BCS game if they win out. If they are undefeated give them a chance against the big boys. I don't think Boise State was 1 in a million. Some of those non-BCS schools are pretty good. But BYU probably isn't going to win out anyway. Their league is better than people think. They could lose at TCU or at Utah. If Utah wins out I think they would be deserving for a BCS bowl or maybe Boise State. I think it's good to have 1 non-BCS team in a BCS bowl. If they didn't they wouldn't have had the most entertaining game I've ever seen when Boise State beat Oklahoma two years ago.

Cougs..How ya doing buddy? Sorry for the confusion but a playoff system was turned down before the start of this season by the BCS committee and the next vote for a playoff scenario is in 2012. So, it's possible that the old fucks may vote no, again

LSU will beat Bama and UGA. They will play UF again in the SEC championship (unless UF screws up and comes out flat against inferior competition).

The winner of the LSU / UF SEC Championship matchup should end up playing either USC or any Big 12 team that survives the gauntlet.

My worst fear is having to watch a BCS championship game that involves an undefeated Big 10 team (Penn St.). This Big 10 in the Big game is getting boring.

What in the hell is the big deal about USC and why do the voters have such a hard on for Pete Carroll and the Trojans....their not that GOOD

Hey weirdo, want to explain to me where you got this hard evidence that proves USC is not that good?  Yeah, they got upset in Corvalis.  I'd rather lose an away conference upset then a home game (Georgia) in what was ALL but a blowout.

Ohh, you're surely going by rank of conferences then?

So if you're doing that you are just like the BCS right?

Point is, you don't know how good or how bad USC really is until you see them play the rest of the top 10.  The only suitable way to depict who really is better than who is a playoff system.

And even if we had a playoff system, who gives YOU the right to say USC is not that good?  Other than an upset game in corvalis you can't--you can't.  It's too early campeezi.

ThaDrizzle77, while I agree with you, that USC can hang with any team in the nation, but they will probably not play another top 10 team again this year, and not even a top 25.

Other teams have to do battle with more than one top 25 team throughout their season, while USC has to play maybe one, and then they're off to their bowl game or a National Championship game.

Other teams have to take the tougher road & most play an additonal conference championship game, where they might suffer their only loss of the season, and lose their chance of playing in the title game.

Imagine if USC's loss to Oregon St, was a PAC 10 conference championship game. They could be undefeated leading up to that game, but that one loss will keep them out of the BCS match.

I don't think there is any sane person out there, who doesn't think USC is a good team, but every year they show that they are beatable. If they played in a tougher conference, they might not look so mighty. If a conference produces the same champion year-in and year -out, what does that tell you about the level of competition in that conference

theres not going to be one clear cut team that dominates college football this year.  there will be a bunch of top notch schools with 1 loss when the year is over.  its way too early to be complaining about the rankings.  this stuff always sorts itself out.

I would say that Ohio State in the title game is getting boring but don't throw out the whole big ten. Penn State has all the makings of a national championship team. Their offense is just as potent as any other in the country...watch them play. They dominate teams they should dominate as well as Wisconsin who has only lost two home games in Bellin's career (although a short 3+ years). If they beat OSU at OSU and don't falter against MSU or Michigan (who always seems to have their number) they deserve to make the National Championship unless both Texas and Alabama run the table. They should be ranked #3.

Second, I don't care how many injuries you have...you cannot get blown out by 31 points in a half at home and consider yourself a national championship contender. Georgia was over-rated all year which is often the case with preseason rankings.

Third, USC is also over-rated. They would not beat any of the three top teams in the Big 12 which is clearly the best division this year even though the SEC is perennially better. Texas and Oklahoma are probably the two best teams in the country. Throw in Missouri and you have 3 of the best 5 teams in the country.

Finally, lay off BYU. They have a really good team and could probably compete with the schools from the major conferences. To this day, I believe that Urban Meyer's Utah squad would have won the national championship if given the opportunity but the politics of college football is disgusting.
