Illinois fan here. I believe it was the 2006 season. The game was in East Lansing. Only reason I remember it is because it was one of Zook's earliest wins in the Big10. IIRC, it was the beginning of John L's tailspin.

I think Illinois is a very dangerous team. I see MSU going to Champaign and getting into a shootout, and that gives the advantage to the Illini. Like I stated, all of the losses I predicted are certainly winnable, hell, Sparty could go 12-0 without really pulling off a major upset. Realistically though, I see us losing 2 or 3 of the "toss up" games.
Go Green!
Go White!

Iowa game will definitely be tough again. But, Greene is gone, and he pretty much carried the Hawkeyes last year v.s. Sparty. I think these two teams are pretty equal, therefore, go with the home team.

I hope you're right, but I see @ Wisky as a loss. Big revenge game from last year. Wisky dominated the game for about 58 minutes but couldn't close it out. Bielema made some very questionable moves in that game and Swenson nailed a 44-yarder to win. It's also sandwiched in between ND and Michigan, it's just not an ideal spot for Sparty. Again, this is how I feel now, a lot can change in the next month or so. Good luck this season!!!

That sounds right to me, Sparty was a heavy fav in that game too, typical John L. Smith shit....![]()

Yeah, it's nice to replace a road game @ Cal with a home game v.s. Montana State, that certainly helps the OVER.

I wouldn't be surprised to see CMU hang around a while in that game. In fact, if John L. Smith or Bobby Williams were still coaching, it would be a very winnable game for CMU. But Dantonio's different. Not to say CMU has no shot at winning SU, cuz they do, it's just unlikely. I think Sparty pulls away in the 4th and wins by 17+, but not before getting a scare.
CMU grad, huh? Spend a little time @ Soaring Eagle, did ya? I used to go all the time, from Grand Rapids. Now, rather than go to local casinos once a week, we just save up and go to Vegas about 3 times a year, but I had some real nice runs up in Mt. Pleasant. Good luck this season!!!!!

FWIW......
I've heard/read about 15-20 different preseason predictions for MSU, and I've not heard any win prediction of less than 8, nor have I heard a finish of worse than 5th in the conference (which equates to about 8 wins). The prediction I've heard most is 9-10 wins and 3rd in the conference. With the OVER 8 offered @ +130,this is looking to be extremely valuable. ![]()
