This is the first time the Badgers have had a total less than 150 this year and this line opened at 142.5. They’ve had scores of 96-64, 97-72 and 86-55 against similar competition. Last game against Ball St they attempted 38 3 pters and made 14 for 38 pct. Wisc runs a 4 out 1 offense.
The reason I love the under here is based on the fact that SIUE starts 6’7, 6’9, 6’8, 6’5 and 5’10.
Wisc starts similar size, in fact they are even taller. SIUE will be able to close out on Wisconsins length and force extra ball swings and 3 pters that go up will most likely be contested compared to the size they’ve gone against. Ball St., the Badgers last opponent was small, averaging 6’4 starting 5. Badgers shot right over the top of Cards defense.
Wisconsin also predicates and depends on securing a high volume of offensive rebounds that I don’t see happening at the frequency as recently played games.
The fact this opened at 142.5 and is now at 145.5 leads me to believe Oddsmakers want the public money on the over because of the low open total number.
The spread is high as well with Bucky laying 26.5. Coach Greg Gard has a kid on the team that’s a walk on and in blowouts goes to his end of the bench players sooner than later which I believe will also play a small factor in the this game.
