Been a fan of any Chicago basketball since i was a kid in the mid 70's early 80',i can remember watching Loyola(Wayne Sappleton,Alfredrick Hughes) or DePaul games(Dave Corzine,Jon Ponsetto) on tv,on like channel 26 or 44 or something, this was way before cable.I cant believe Chicago doesnt have any perennial powerhouse college basketball teams like say Villanova, they could recruit some of the best basketball players in the nation, right in their backyard.Back in the day Chicago HS basketball was the best in the country.Hell when i was a kid,i went to Proviso West HS,they had 1 of the biggest Christmas Holiday basketball tournaments in the nation, just for a lot of local teams. The 1 year i was in school, some of the players in that tournament were (Isiah Thomas,Glen(Doc)Rivers,Mark Aguirre, and Terry Cummings).Im sure everyone of those guys is in the basketball Hall of Fame, thats 4 Hall of Famers in 1 HS Christmas tournament, thats pretty impressive.
