Let's face it, if you want to point out bad or questionable calls you can do that the entire game.
i did. even started a thread half-way through the game. thought the officiating was horrible. they didn't call anything for most of the game and i thought it favored michigan because michigan didn't go to the hoop and syracuse was getting a lot more shots near the rim in traffic with guys swating at the ball and making body contact. michigan was the right call but they almost blew it with end game strategy. people need to stop saying michigan was winning the whole game and deserved to win because playing with a lead in the last 5 minutes of the game is also a part of the game.

hockeytown, if you still can't tell for sure then you don't know the rules of basketball. there should have been a foul on the burke play but atleast the contact was after he shot, it didn't affect whether the ball went in or not, the calls against syracuse took the ball out of there hands and took their 2 starting guards out of the game.

sorry for being a whiny b1tch. i just can't seem to catch a break lately. i made the wrong call tonight but was hoping i could have caught a break. didn't mean to insult anybody.

I said it was a bang bang play and it was. My point is that there were a lot of calls (just like every game) that were questionable. I am very familiar with the rules. What I'm saying is that at first look, I thought it was an easy charge. It took MULTIPLE replays to show otherwise. Anybody that watched this game and says that call costs Cuse a trip to the final is completely out of there mind.
Here is a thought (FACT): Syracuse got beat by a better team tonight. Enough said!

i'm sorry but anyone who says the officiating didn't affect the last 1:14 of that game is completely out of their mind. horrible call to foul out michael carter-williams and morgan was clearly moving when triche left the ground to attempt his shot. People get on here and say "fact: syracuse got beat by a better team tonight", what part of the fact that it was a 2 point game when a bad call was made that clearly changed how the last 30 seconds of the game would be played do you not get. People gloating like Michigan won this game easily is ridiculous, just cause they were ahead by 6-11 point for a good part of the game doesn't change the fact that a bad call cost syracuse a chance to tie and took their starting guards out of the game.

How about the "fact" that Hardaway got hammered on a 2-1 and no call. You can look at literally 10-20 plays and say "what if". Two points in the 3rd qtr are the same as 2 points in the 4th qtr as 2 pts in the 1st qtr. you can't pick and choose. Michigan had just as many questionable calls as well. They are just as important as the call late in the game. And seriously, to say that was an "obvious" block is simply asinine. Besides, that call does not win them the game. It gives them an opportunity to possibly tie and also gives Michigan the ball back. As for Michigan being the better team, that WAS obvious.
Once again, the only reason Cuse was even close is because Belein chose to let them. I cannot believe the number of open looks Michigan passed up in the final 3 minutes. Let's hope they learn and don't do the same against Louisville. Keep thinking what you wish but that call is not the reason Cuse is on a plane right now and Michigan is not. Michigan Beat Them. Except it, that game is over. Move on...

now i get it hockeytown. you don't even know that they play halfs in college basketball and not quarters.
say what you want about 2 points early vs 2 points late is the same, whatever, none of that matters. it was a 2 point games with under 30 seconds when the refs made a bad call. obviously michigan would have gotten the ball back and i never said syracuse lost because of that call. the only thing i've said is that the refs changed the way the last 30 seconds of that game was going to be played, and cost syracuse a chance to tie the game. "michigan was obviously the better team", they were up 2 with 30 seconds left, that does not make them an obviously better team.
and to say 10-20 plays calls are missed, means you just don't get it. the way the refs officiated that game favored michigan the whole game, michigan settled for jumpers all game and syracuse went to the hoop, but the refs let them play inside more than most refs which favored michigan's style. i'm not saying that's bad officiating, just saying it favored michigan. to use the generic saying of 10-20 calls were missed earlier is just amateur and shows you don't even know what your talking about. take a look at the shot charts. naturally a team that's shooting from inside more would tend to get to the free throw line more and draw fouls, but the refs let them hack away all game and syracuse didn't take advantage of it until part way into the 2nd half.

Sorry about the mistake on qtrs. as they play qtrs in the NBA. That also had little to do with my point. Also, Syracuse plays a zone. One of the ways Michigan beat it was shooting over it. The hacking was being done by Syracuse. And I believe (not positive) that Michigan has the least amount of fouls called on them in the country. This would leave me to believe that Michigan does not foul much. Then again, maybe the NCAA fixed their season or they have just been the beneficiary of officiating all year.
Also, as I said before. The only reason the game was close is because Michigan let off the gas. If the this doesn't happen Michigan wins by DD.
and for you, I have been doing this a looooong time. I have probably paid more juice in one day than you have ever won in a month. I do know what I'm doing and what I am talking about. You, young fella should come over to the hockey forum and get a grasp on how real men conduct a forum. It is good solid advice with no BS trash talk. We don't whine or complain about officiating or come up with sht like "you obviously don't know..." We work together to beat the books.
I really hope for your sake you didn't lose too much on the Orange and I really hope you are done with the wine and chz and sht talking. It's a new day!
...and Michigan was clearly the better team.

I lost on Cuse but the calls were bad. Carter didn't block (like cowboy said) and easy block at the end not a charge. Those were game changers.
So the first 39 minutes of the game when Michigan clearly out played Syracuse had no bearing on the game just the last minute and not even the playing just refs calls. LMAO
First of all the charge was bang bang and could have gone either way and even the announcers when seeing it live thought it was a charge. The foul called on Syracuse when Hardaway led with the elbow was a bad call. Let's go over the entire game and find all of the no calls on Cuse that should have been called and weren't. Championship caliber teams don't lose because they had a call blown like that. Bad timing yes, major part of the entire game? Not even close.

Damn son, I remember when I was young and would cry about the officiating when my team lost or I lost money. The fact is that that last call was a bang bang play. It definitely looked like a charge live. After (and only after) looking at the replay 3-5 times you still can't say for sure. The block on CW was a bad call. However, Hardaway got hammered on a 2-1 and no call. Burke was getting pushed all night.

If you think that last call cost Syracuse the game you are sadly mistaken. Michigan won this game hands down. They completely outplayed 'Cuse and that is why they won. If anything, thank Belein for taking his foot off the gas and giving you life.
mj i agree the game was one of the better officiated games of the tournament
