Syracuse comes in on a 5 game losing streak - last win, SMU by 1 pt. The Orange started the year at 12-5, then the wheels fell off and they've gone 3-11 since. Probably lack motivation other than as a spoiler or saving their coach.
SMU still has tournament hopes, though they come in on a 4 game losing streak. They'll be without starting guard BJ Edwards again - which ties to the 4 losses. In those four games, SMU’s defensive efficiency plummeted. They went from a solid defensive unit to allowing nearly 84 PPG.
So when a mustang sees red (or maybe even orange), they run. I look for SMU to keep up their high tempo offense against an uneven Syracuse defense - along the way the Orange will score enough for the FG over.
