As an Arizona Alum I like to do write ups on my team regardless of a play of not.
As for Arizona this team has had its ups and downs this year as was expected with alot of youth and the loss of DWill. Last game out Arizona played Gonzaga and got embarrassed on the boards. Gonzaga dominated the paint and showed where Arizona's weakness lies. Arizona will struggle all year with big physical teams. But I dont see this Oakland team being big and physical.
Oakland has Corey Petros who is a Double Double Machine but I see Jesse Perry able to limit him fairly decent as he gives it his all everytime out. As for the other forward Oakland has Drew Valentine but will be matched up with Soloman Hill who is experienced and proved in last years tournament he can be a force. Now the big scorer for Oakland, Reggie Hamilton. He will be defended by Kyle Fogg tonight who I expect to get a ton of minutes as he is Arizonas best one on one defender. I expect Fogg to limit Hamilton so Oakland will have to look elsewhere for scoring. The rest of this Oakland team is designed like Arizona this year,as I dont expect them to dominate down low but to shoot with most teams. Looking at this matchup I see Arizona with the advantage on the defensive end as Sean Miller's teams pressure the outside very well which will effect this Oakland team offensively.
Arizona is a deep team as I expect to see 10 guys get minutes tonight. Oakland will run about 8 deep but the majority of the scoring will come from the first 5. Arizona has 7 guys who can go off any night and I have been expecting Kevin Parrom to have more of a role with this team, although he did get shot while back in NY, so his slow start may be more understandable.
In addition Arizona came out flat against Gonzaga and was down 20 at half. After Sean Miller chewed the teams ass they came out the 2nd half a different team. They cut the lead down to 6 with 2 min to play and had a chance to win if they were able to hit a clutch shot or two. This is how I expect Arizona to come out tonight at home. They are going to try to get off to a quick start in front of a more mellow home crowd tonight as students are back home for break. With all this being said the 9 pts seems to be a pretty decent line but you never know with this Arizona team, as they have been inconsistent this year.
If I had to choose a side I would be on AZ -9 (maybe a homer pick) but Oakland played a tough fought game at Valpo just 3 days ago now fly west to play. Think this is a tough spot for Oakland against a team that matches up to them real well as I talked about above Arizona will be able to limit their scorers. I am assuming Jesse Perry limits Petros but it is a worry of mine as the paint will be a worry with this Arizona team all year until they can prove to me they can board.
Hope this helps if anyone was looking into this game. Alot more info on Arizona as I follow this team closely.

I love the way that Oakland plays. Think they got a shot to be a Cinderella in the tourney for sure. With that said, really like AZ tonight. It's down to -8.5 @ 5dimes. I'm on it. Good Luck Brother

line seems sharp to me. oakland was projected to be a top 100 team before the season began and finish 2nd in summit. lean zona as well @ home but no play for me.
thanks for the write-up man! appreciate the info!!!!

I agree they can be a tourney team but thought they had a better shot at cinderella when they had benson. ORU gonna be tough to beat in the Summit.

Line may be a tad sharp but after the game in Seattle against Zaga I know Miller ripped this team. Oakland is a hell of a team but I imagine a fast start for AZ tonight and maybe a little slower of a start for Oakland after a tough game and the travel. Then by the end of the game I hope Zona's depth wears Oakland down a bit pushing Zona into a DD win. I had to play Zona -9.......may be a homer play
