This game seems to have the trendy underdog on the public forum here. . . more love for the illini posted than for texas or arkansas (Hawkeye/Husker matchup essentially even)
Disclosure - illini futures for FF and E8, and a hug B10 fan (sparty in particular but thats a diff story)
-Are the Illini TOUGH enuf to handle the coogs? tuff to say haha. the ole stereotype of "euros" as softies may or may not apply here; mirkovic is a bad dude but the others (twins, nba offspring) maybe not so much
-will the illini play up to the competition? it seems like they failed every test v. elite teams this season (mich, michstate, uconn). yes, they beat ttech (w toppin) and tenn, and lost to bama but these teams are "sub-elite" and nowhere near what challenges the coogs present
-flemings >> wagler. this is a concern. but hopefully "active" andrei shows up and not the "passive" version
-this years iteration of K sampsons "grown men" great as usual but just seems like something is missing. uzan has been off all year. cenac oozing w talent but raw and can fall in love with settling for the perimeter shot (yes he can make 'em)
-"HCA" in tournament games is overrated as im sure many of us agree with; not a true home game despite location/ticket sales
it scares me to see so many of us public folk on the B Underwoods. nevertheless, lets go illini +2.5 and ML. why not!! GL to all
