I like both Walton and Vitale, but have to tell this story about Vitale. I have an uncle who is a retired high school agriculture teacher in KY. About twenty years ago the national Future Farmers of America (FFA) convention was always held in Louisville. One of the student's in my uncle's class had battled severe health issues since birth, and has been in a wheelchair and will be for his entire life. The student was a big sports fan and was excited to learn that Vitale was going to speak. Vitale at that point was much in demand as a speaker and gave positive uplifting speeches especially to high school age youth. My uncle knew someone who would be in contact with Vitale, and asked if he could bring the student to meet Vitale after his speech. It was thought that Vitale had to leave for the airport right after the speech. My uncle and his student were told to go to an area that Vitale would pass through before exiting the building. Vitale was told about the kid wanting to meet him.  After hearing the story, Vitale met and talked with the kid for about 15 minutes. When he turned to walk away, tears were steaming down his face, as well as most of the other adults who watched him talking to the kid. Both Walton and Vitale seem like good people.

Im going bill . The shit he says makes you laugh and shake your head at the same time.  Hell his commentary sometimes is more enjoyable than the game. 

Mac I love you, but Bill Walton needs to go away. He is such a distraction. In last nights SC Buffs game he was in some other world rattling on about things that made no sense while there were critical things happening in the game that were ignored. I refuse to listen to him any longer. He also makes some very inappropriate comments, that I have to explain away to my children!

 The one think I don't like about Walton is his constant referral to the PAC-12 as the Conference of Champions. PAC-12 teams have won the NCAA men's championship twice in the last 46 years. I still remember the NCAA tourney game where a player was sick and had to leave the game. Walton said the player should go to the locker room, put his finger in his mouth, puke and come back and play. It was around the dinner hour on the East Coast when Bill made the remarks. His apology on the air was very funny. One reason Walton enjoys talking so much is that one point in his life, he had a pretty severe stuttering problem, which he was able. If you're too young to have watched Walton play, one of the best passing big men ever. If you pick a all-time NCAA tournament team, he is a lock to make it. Two national titles and another Final Four in his three years at UCLA, freshman were not allowed to play in that time period.

Met them both a few times during my sports career...Walton knew the trainer of the Heat when he was the trainer of the Blazers and I worked for him when he was the Heat Trainer...gave me a big bear hug every time I saw him at a celtics /heat game.

After the game , I would make sure to take his bags to the team bus and he always gave me a crisp $20.

Vitale did the first HS basketball game ever on espn with the late John Saunders and a young Chris Fowler.

It was Flint Hill Prep vs Mater Dei....he spoke to both teams at a luncheon held for us before the championship game...pine bluff classic ...we also met Bill and Hillary, lol.

Regardless of bill’s tangents or reverence for pac 12, Duke Vitale sold his sold to espn and Duke 20 years ago and it has gotten progressively worse.  He used to be a cheerleader for the little guy come tourney time.  Now he is a paid shill for Duke.  We have a standing bet when he broadcasts a non Duke game to see how long it takes him to talk about Duke.  EVERYTIME, EVERYTIME, he could be broadcasting a big ten game with #1 and #3 or a big 12 game that has 5 future nba’ers and is 99-98 with two minutes left and he will talk about K and Duke.  It’s sickening.  And yes I hate Duke.  So it’s a hatred by proxy.  K is the most hypocritical man in sports.

I know I was watching last nights game and listening to his wacky comments a few minutes of listening I had to mute him even though I do get a chuckle but for two halves it gets annoying so I just watch the game and listen to Spotify hehe 

I prefer the mute button no matter who is announcing, mainly due to all the fake sneaker squeaks

walton has got to be the most annoying person to listen to. 

There is ALWAYS something new/crazy that comes out whenever Bill is broadcasting........he doesn't care what people think about him.........on the flip-side.....I sometimes feel like Vitale sometimes preaches too much on his own personal views or interests.......it fogs up his analysis.......both are polarizing broadcast figures......I lean Bill.......

Think Vitale is a really good person - but I can't stand listening to him - have to mute the tv.  Walton - dude seems to be in his own little world.

i use the mute button for both...the sc-buff game came on and there Bill was...i was like you got to be kidding me!! the only way i listen to him is if I feel I got the wager locked up....Are they good guys? Yes i think they are but they are terrible broadcasters and that should be addressed....

It's more like who do I hate the most !
