I like St. Mary's to cover some points here. It won't be the 19 pt win like Feb 25, but they won't lose as they did in Jan.
At the end of the day (or night in this case), the Gaels are the better team. While the Broncos made it though the mediocrity of Pacific and OSU, they're not SMC.
The Gaels have dominated this series recently, winning 8 of the last 9 meetings. In that Feb game they completely owned the glass, outrebounding the Broncos 51–21. Saint Mary's has a 37% offensive rebound rate (4th in the nation). Santa Clara’s defense often gives up second-chance opportunities, which is a death sentence against a Randy Bennett-coached team that thrives on long, demoralizing possessions.
The Gaels defense is elite, ranked 7th nationally in points allowed. They take away the three-point line, which is where Santa Clara usually finds its edge.
The Broncos starting line-up has be a bit uneven lately, while the Gaels have been quite steady in their rotation.
