dont think this will be an easy fight for Chuck. Rampage isnt some guy who just came on the scene..he's been whooping people ass in Japan for a long time....i think this is a bad matchup for Chuck. i would like to see him win and i think he's determined, but i think it will be harder than alot of people think

No official plays yet. But my early leans are Liddell -190, Martin +140, Salmon -135, Marrero +200.
I'm curious to see what everyone else is thinking!
BTW, the weigh-in will be shown live on ESPNnews.
I'd be scared to play Liddell with Couture picking Rampage. Not saying the trend will continue, but Randy has been absolutely sick this year picking on The Fight Network.

Haha. I thought about that too! He hit the Gonzaga-Cro Cop fight dead on! But, I believe he also picked Tito to beat Chuck. Considering Randy and Chuck's professional rivalry, I wouldn't be surprised if has never picked Chuck to win a fight.

Haven't the last three UFC fights ended in pretty big upsets? You can argue that Couture wasn't that major of an upset, but the other two were. . .
I've taken a sabbatical from betting for a little while, but if I was laying money, it would have to be with Rampage. I like Liddell, as a fan I hope he wins, but I can see him getting caught if Rampage can survive a few early flurries and get a good feel for the pace of the fight. Chopz said it best when he stated it was a bad match-up. . . I at least hope it's a very entertaining fight, and I would think it's going to turn out to be so.

Randy also picked Babalu to beat Chuck.. i wouldn't put too much into who he picks in Liddell's matches..

Salaverry, Martin even said he wasn't impressed with Ivan in the interviews. So in other words he'll most likely giv ehim no respect and get caught in a submission. I don't give star plays or anything cause anything could happen in MMA but the linesmakers were way off in my opinion on this fight.
On the rampage match, seems like rampage just likes the big bucks. Doesn't seem motivated to be the champ. I'd have to pick Liddell in that one.
I also like Kalib Starnes to upset Chris Leben, and I don't know why the line for Burkman/Parisyian has dropped. Parisyian is a way more talented veteran than Burkman.

It's a no play for me. But, the line seems right. Martin belongs at 185. In his two losses at 205, he had clearly won the first round and then proceeded to get KO'd in the second. If this goes to the ground, he is in serious trouble. Salaverry hasn't been too active recently. Should be an interesting fight.

Rampage! +171 - Good defense and solid standup. Slow fight with both trying to measure each other, Chuck will try to counter and won't push the action. Rampage in his first UFC fight will give in a little and shoot to get the takedown. Rampage will get it through skill and/or strength and slam Chuck down. Rampage smart fighter on the ground, nothing fancy will keep working the elbows and punches until Chuck loses by TKO or this is repeated for a decision. Biased refs will probably keep standing them up like the CC/Gonzaga fight when Gonzaga was working on top of CC. After Rampage wins he'll thank the usual people, make some jokes then call out Randy.

Nice write-up. But you forgot to mention Chuck's world-class takedown defense and the fact Rampage comes at people straight and doesn't move side to side. Also, this is Rampage's second UFC fight.
Chuck has improved every facet of his game, Rampage has degressed. Chuck has been on this stage before, Rampage was admittingly nervous against Eastman and will be nervous with all the extra eyes on this fight because of the ESPN coverage.
And on that note, Liddell -175.
Chuck vs. Shogun in December

Ivan Salaverry -170....Ivan is a frickin' magician on the ground
Chuck Liddell -200....I think Chuck knocks him out rather early
Sean Salmon -135....Before receiving that high kick from Rashad Evans that knocked him out, Salmon was winning the fight, pretty impressive v.s. a fighter that relys on winning rounds
Kalib Starnes +200 .... I'll take almost anybody +200 v.s Leben right now.
Houston Alexander +400....Just gambling here, Jardine probably thinking he deserves a bigger fight may take him lightly.
I got a lot of action for this event:

I know nothing about this sport, but Jackson seems like a rather live dog. Odds should be closer to pick'em, IMO. Therefore, I might take the dog if I can action on the match.

I love Starnes at +205 and it really doesn't have anything to do with how Starnes fights. Its more of a knock on Chris Leben. I'd take most people with MMA experience at +205 against Leben. The UFC wants him to succeed so bad but he just hasn't been able to perform yet.

LIKE both of these fighters very much but The Iceman has shot down all challengers and in devastating fashion. I think rampage will go after Chuck early and get KTFO late in the 2nd or early in the 3rd
ICEMAN -200 (3 units)
