Terrible terrible tragedy. He dies exactly 2 years to the date that he gave us his memorable war with Castillo. Like I said last month when he fought Clottey, he would go toe to toe with a bull if given the chance. I don't know how much longer he was going to last in the sport, but to be robbed of the rest of his life with his family after the way he turned around his personal life is tragic. His wife is 7 months pregnant right now which makes this even worse.

Whenever you talk about boxers of recent time, with the most heart, the ones who held nothing back in the ring, the ones who gave maximum effort each and every single time out, those guys who you knew would give the fans' their money's worth every time they stepped into the ring... Diego Corrales will always be remembered among the very top of that list.
From all us boxing fans, our hearts go out to the Corrales family, his wife & 5 children. May he rest in peace, it is truly a sad day for boxing, and sports in general.

Man, this really sucks. Corrales is my favorite fighter, and I will NEVER forgot his first bout against Castillo. Truly the best fight I have ever witnessed live.
Though he had some rough patches in his life, Diego was a good guy. The boxing world will not be the same without Chico.
