Gonzalez started out awfully slow but really came on in the 3rd.  That huge uppercut in the 4th was exactly what he had been waiting for FB. After he pushed Estrana into the corner and unloaded, the ref had no choice but to step in and stop the abuse.  Awesome 4th round for Jhonny!

Gonzalez took a while to settle in, but all is well that ends well.  Pastrana's chin was the key to playing this under, good for us it held true to form.

What a day for you, FB!

How bad did Byrd look A2C?  That was kind of rough to watch actually.  I think he lost 20 pounds of weight just in his legs coming into this fight, they looked like #2 pencils.  I felt bad for Chris in there.

Good call on your part.  I just had a feeling the weight drop would show itself in one of the two scenarios that I mentioned above, though I was thinking in the 9th we were looking at a lopsided decision for George.

Meant to answer this earlier tonight.  No way am I ordering this with the triple header that we have on HBO.  I'm hoping that streamtvnow picks it up.

You were looking very good with the way things were going in the middle rounds and into the 9th, that ending was sudden, but not really unexpected as Byrd really looked bad the whole fight.  Close, nice play still.

It was a huge Friday, hopefully tomorrow will bring more of the same.  Added Gutierrez, may play more on him, but I'm done betting Munoz.

May add more, just didn't know if the line would go much higher.  Line still available at thegreek.  Agree with pretty much everything that mayweatherfan said in his thread on the fight.  It will be very interesting to see how Angulo reacts when extended against a game guy, plus add to the fact Angulo is not that hard to hit cleanly and it's a no brainer for me.  Even in the "Arshot" blowout Archak landed flush a couple of times against the ropes.  Looks like a lot of people are sipping the kool-aid off of Angulo's last few early endings.

No, I just hang out there.  Good peeps.  I try to split time between there and here and post plays in both, but sometimes I forget.  In a case like this, I can vent all I want in there without repurcussion.

In there, you can raise all kinds of hell and no one cares.  Out here, I have to mind my p's and q's.  This forum I don't mind because it's one of about 4 constructive ones left and one of about 2 I participate as much as I can in otherwise, but anything else I just post it in there.

I really thought that Byrd knew he was done, but even still I can't believe he didn't just ride out the 20 secs left in the 9th, run around a bit, make it to the stool, recover, and finish the fight.  At least in that case, he could make a case that he got outpointed, and he'll survive to get a couple more fights in.  After that performance, and then getting KO'd by a non power puncher, he's got no excuse.  Game over.

Yeah, I see what you are saying about Byrd running around, but he just looked spent.  I was actually expecting the towel to come in from the Byrd corner after the first kd.

I kinda thought it might too.  I was in a bar, so I couldn't hear all the fight interviews, but Byrds corner looked PISSED when they put a mike in front of the during the fight.  I was just praying George wouldn't go nuts and try for it cause it looked like he could have done it whenever he wanted past about rd 5.  Hell, I guess if Byrd is going to hand it to him on a silver platter though he mine as well.

Bad, very bad.  The delayed reaction on the 1st knockdown told the whole story.  I don't know where he goes from here.  Glad we hit the under though.  Great day!

I still think Kirkland has flaws, but that was a statement tonight.  No stage fright from him in his HBO debut.

I thought when Guti hurt Angulo early in the 5th paydirt could be forthcoming, but boy that turned around quickly.  Stoppage probably was premature, but I think Weeks saw Guti off balance and thought he was about to collapse.  Guti was to sloppy looking for the big shot throughout and Angulo's body work throughout was very good.

I don't know what that judge was watching that scored it for Munoz, must have been a WBA official.  I agreed with the majority.  Munoz could just never land that big significant shot.

Losing night tonight, but Branco made the weekend a great one.
