o1/11 FNF's, and other weekend bouts.....

Ed.Miranda (besides eating lizards), and Bonsu look to have enough Voltage to get their job(s) done. Pascal is improving, the more I see him the more I like what he brings to the Ring and he looks several notches above OP. KM is in his 24th fight, fighting a guy in his 4th Pro fight (that ones already over, as I'm getting it will get the axe and KM will fight some1 other than his NYM's teammates and their girlfriends).

I would like to see "The Latin Snake" get stepped on, and the guy he's facing has a bit of Power. But SM tends to just Box, hunt, and peck his way to Decision wins; & Rito tends to get beat when Rito steps up. So I expect more of the same.

I see nothing but after class eraser-clapping chalk.

Lots of people on the under 9.5 in SM's fight.  Went from -130 to -190 in about 24 hours.  I certainly understand the argument.  The question is whether you should lay -200 chalk on a KO from a guy who has only done it 4 times in his career and looked awful his last time out.

Serious fucking chalk this weekend.  Even for me. Most likely I'll end up with a 6:2 parlay or some such. Anyone make the dogs in these fights with the huge favorites (Miranda, Mora, Pascal, Bonsu, Mitchell) live at all??

Sweet -- that sounds like great fun, FB!  Nice FNF to be at, as you'll get a first-hand look at both Pascal and Miranda.  Gotta say that  I was leaning towards a Miranda KO, but I don't like the -160 price tag considering that Banks is slippery and has never been KO'd.

Kevin Mitchell fight cancelled...

Great call.  Early candidate for KO of the year.  Banks was hanging in the ropes like a piece of meat until right around the 8 count.  In the end, I didnt have the onions to lay -160 on the under prop but it looked like a good play.  Fullbrights, you caught one nice main event tonight and a hilarious post-fight display. For those that didn't see it, both Miranda and Allan Green (in studio guest) were calling Pascal a fraud, saying he didn't have any fundamentals.  Pascal, fighting on the undercard, was badly troubled by Philly club fighter Omar Pittman in the later rounds.  On several occasions, Pittman looked like he was close to knocking Pascal out.  After Pantera KO'd Banks, Pascal was ringside being interviewed by Teddy Atlas.  Pascal coundnt resist talking smack to Pantera and threw off his headset microphone and started calling out the Colombian, telling him he wanted to fight him right now.  Unfortunately, they were kept apart and now we'll have to wait until June to see them go at if for real. Miranda ISD against Pascal looks like the play that will pay.

Yah; that was an unimpressive nite by Pascal. I actually suspect he's better than that; but last nite sure did n0t show it. I'm wondering if he was looking past Omar a little bit? As Omar had him in some measure of buzzing trouble once or twice. EM is kray. Kinda a more raw version of "Tito" when Felix as at his best. I agry w/ those above who suggest EM is the play vs. Pascal. I see no other outcome. Prolly ITD as well.

TLS did better than I expected. Shot down 1 Parlay outcome Prop for me. Maybe TLS is actually getting better? But Rito had been on the shelf so dang long it's hard to tell with that much dust on a bottle exactly what you're picking up.

It was a premature stoppage in the Mora fight.  2 judges actually had Rito ahead at that point.  Rito was exchanging with Mora and backing Mora down for most of the fight.  the ref jumped in when all that Mora had done was connect with a couple flush shots, but rito was throwing back.  The ref even got knocked over in the exchange as he tried to stop the fight because Rito was firing back.  Mora sucks bad.

Adding the LOW and Alex Munoz over in Japan for 2nite. IF Alex gets upset, I suspect it's ITD.

Wowzas, what a sudden ending.  It was even crazier live.  More to come on my night at the fights.

It was a great FNF to attend that's for sure.  First you had Pittman in the semi-main hurt Pascal a couple of times and then you had Edison send Banks back to Oregon with that right hand.  The non-televised undercard a couple of good scraps also.

Back from Miami now and having to get readjusted to the cold weather that was waiting to greet us.  It was a great FNF to attend; great venue, nice card, and one heck of a highlight reel knockout by Miranda.  If you have never been to the Hard Rock in Hollywood for a night, put it on your to-do list; there isn't a bad seat in the house, very large casino (just slots and poker), beautiful hotel, and great restaurants.  Plus you have South Beach 30 minutes away; my wife and I had never been until now; it's a different world that's for sure.

The best part of FNF for me was all of the fighters who were there in attendance.  Our seats weren't quite as good as I thought they were, but we were on the floor, so we were able to walk over to the area where most of the fighters were seated.  We got pics snapped with Klitschko, McCline, Lacy, Glen Johnson, Urango, John David Jackson, Jason Litzau, Ngoudjo, Pascal, Ouma, David Estrada, and Joe Tessitore.  Interesting story about Tessitore, I had talked to him a couple of years ago when I was tailgating with Steve Kim (Maxboxing) at the Miami-Clemson game; long story short, Joe called Steve's cell and I talked to Joe for a few minutes.  While my wife and I are getting our picture made with him, I say, you probably don't remember Joe, but I talked to you a couple of years ago from Steve Kim's cell phone, he responds back with, "yeah, I remember, Miami-Clemson right?"  It tripped me out with all the people that he talks to that he would remember a 5 minute conversation over 2 years ago.  Nice guy.


Tidbits from the night..........
Lacy told me he is looking at fighting Tarver in August at the earliest and definitely not on the St. Pete undercard of Dawson-Johnson in April.  I thought it was hillarious when I got home and read the Showtime press release that Tarver-Lacy was signed and sealed for April.

Glen Johnson is pure class.  We asked for a quick picture with him  and instead he walks around the railing separating the VIP/Press credentials and spends a couple of minutes with us.  Pascal is also, as we are taking our seats he is carrying his gear back to the locker room; you would think that he would be in fight mode, but instead he spends a couple of minutes chatting and snapping pictures for us and others.

Oliver McCall gets the punch drunk award .  I ask for a picture and he says that he doesn't do photos and I overhear him telling others he doesn't do autographs.  You would think that he would appreciate that he still has fans.  That's not the clincher though; he was talking it up for most of the night with two girls who each weighed between 200-250 and looked like they had made their weekly trip from the trailer park to gamble away their paycheck at the casino.  To put it mildly, they were ROUGH.  Of course ol' Olly left the arena with the two of them.

Kassim Ouma had definitely been partaking in Puff the Magic Dragon.

The Miranda KO was even more brutal in person.
Moment of the night came when we were in the casino afterwards when Miranda is walking through unnoticed with his team lagging behind.  I yell out, "Miranda, you cost me my over bet with that KO!!" then we go over and shake his hand, I am pretty sure he didn't understand what I was saying though.
