Tough break for you Kidcole...he survived a few scary moments and looked like he'd be able to hang on. I was on the other end of that and will take the $. Hope Paulie is smart with his million-dollar payday, because I don't see any more in his future.

It's a badge of honor to not get stopped for a pro boxer. Paulie was getting hammered but was never in any serious trouble. McGirt (of all people, a former fighter) should have let the kid go another round and save his pride. Maybe he bet the Under? Just kidding, but McGirt is the most over-rated trainer in the game today IMHO. On this point I totally agree.

Completely agree with the first part. Getting stopped hurts your future earning power too. Everybody wants to be the first to stop a guy.

I guess someone should have stepped in to "save" Buddy when he was getting waxed in the second Whitaker fight.
There's no point being sadistic, and no he wasn't going to win but a fight is a fight, Paulie was still trying to compete, and Hatton has been shaky at points in recent years (albeit mainly at 147).
I'm thinking training Gatti for all those years might have clouded Buddy's judgement last night. I know he'll never be asked to train Brian Vera.
