I think there are many reasons that Floyd does not want this fight but the main two are hand speed and the other is that Manny is a southpaw.

Floyd can not do his philly shell against a southpaw as an orthodox fighter, because he would be rolling into the power hand of Pacman. The more I study Floyd career the less I am impressed, he truly does "pick" his next fight carefully, and this one is just too hot to touch

But ya do have to admit there was a whole lot more going on in Oscar's weight class at that time than what Mayweather has to deal with now and that is not his fault!!

Holy shit this thread fails.

I love how everyone just dismisses the win over Mosley.  How quickly we forget that this is the same Shane Mosley that was ranked number 1 at WW, just demolished Margarito, and the same Shane Mosley that Pacquiao wanted nothing to do with.

Shane offers to fight Pacquiao at 147....

Roach:  "He's too good at 147"

Shane says he'll meet at 145...

Roach:  "Mosley at 145 is too much"

Shane says he'll go to 140.

Roach "We're not interested in a Shane Mosley fight"

Floyd beats Shane Mosley... Mosley is old, and washed up.

Bottom line is that if Pacquiao stops with the excuses, and takes the tests, we're going to have a fight.  And a lot of people are going to have a lot of crow to eat when Mayweather beats Pacquiao convincingly.

He is faster and bigger and both will show if they fight

Just take the test Manny ...

Do you really think he couldn't make an adjustment to roll the other way or even switch to a southpaw stance himself?

Either way he should be able to make adjustments

Also nobody is as fast as Mayweather and even Manny will realize that when the time comes

I meant to avoid this thread at all cost, but for some reason I read it.  Here's my two cents (and I'm not a hater of anyone):  Floyd is not the boss.  Manny doesn't have to abide by the Mayweather rules of drug testing.  Floyd singing some song about how he's trying to clean up the sport is bullshit.  He just wants to gain a perceived edge over Manny by making him relent to his requests.  Do I wish Manny would relent, and bow down to Floyd?  Sure.  I want to see the fight just like everyone else, but I understand where the Manny side is coming from.

Danno Spot fcuking on! I could not have put this better myself. Floyd Mayweather does not rule over boxing, it is not up to him to dictate the terms of any fight, let alone a fight this huge. If I am Pacquaio there is no fcuking way I give into this guys demands because if you do he will want more and more. There are so many ego's involved in the making of this fight and I believe now negotations are to be done in private.

We are now at a major impass.Pacquaio seemingly went against Arum's policy of keeping stum by being the first to make a move (which I still don't agree with). Pacquaio has stated today in front of the whole world that he is willing to go to 14 days drug testing. Previously at arbitration Floyd wanted 14 days and straight after the fight and Pacquaio's team said 21.Negotations broke down. Now Floyd has gotten what he previously wanted..

This is the last time Pacquaio should budge on this. 14 days and straight after the fight is perfectly reasonable (for the cynics who believe Pacquaio has taken drugs, he will start to wind down training with 10 days left so 4 days juicing is almost pointless). It's clear Manny really wants this fight. He is the first to budge and this proves the only fight he wants is Mayweather.

The ball is squarely now in Mayweathers court. This is what he wanted in January. He has know got it. If he moves the playing field again there is only ONE person at fault and that's Floyd Mayweather.

For the record I think Floyd will destroy Manny. Too Big, too fast, too skillful. I think Floyd will set a trap and Manny will walk into it all night long. I even fancy the stoppage. I am a fan of both. I saw both sides during the inital negotations breakdown (although I admit as stated above sided with Manny's stance). There can be no excuses from Mayweather now.

I don't take anything away from the guy as a boxer. He is fantastic and if he can destroy Manny Pacquaio like I believe he will his star rise into orbit. I woud even suggest Floyd retire. He will have nothing left to prove.

I like Floyd in the fight becauswe of his straight right hand. The straight right is Manny's Kryptonite. People say Floyd's been avoiding the tough fights but I say Manny's been avoiding fighters that can throw the STRAIGHT right. (We saw what happenned with Morales and Marquez. Barrera, De La Hoya, Hatton, and Cotto were all left hook dominant fighters.) Combined with his jab and overall boxing IQ, I'm going with Floyd by dec again.

It's hilarious that no one finds it ironic that Manny only agreed to the 14 day cutoff AFTER Floyd said he would no longer be offering a 14 day cutoff.

Floyd offers 14 day cutoff:  Manny says he won't accept it.

Floyd says he's no longer going to offer a 14 day cutoff, and wants testing up until the fight:  Manny says he'll accept 14 days.

And it's true, Floyd doesn't make the rules in boxing, but neither does Manny.  And he puts unrealistic weight penalty stipulations on his fight, but that gets over looked by Mayweather haters.

Bottom line here, fellas, is that Floyd has agreed to everything Manny's camp has come up with, and Manny has shot down the one thing Floyd's camp requested.  Had Manny agreed to a 14 day cutoff the first time, we would have seen this fight on March 13th earlier this year.  So a 14 day cutoff wasn't acceptable when Mayweather requested it, but it's acceptable after Mayweather says the offer is off the table?  Shit is comical.

Roach just wants to talk like he wants Manny to fight Floyd.  In reality, he knows what the outcome will be.

If Pactards get off his ass and pressured him instead of babying the fucker he'd be forced to agree and then he'd say he was weakened by the blood test

The same blood test your opponent is taking

Is Floyd superhuman and thus able to not be tired by bloodtesting

Is Floyd asking Manny to do something he's not going to do

Marnypoly (Jersey Shore reject) and the others have absolute crap responses and couldn't find anything else to say other than "Floyd doesn't make the rules" shut the fuck up WTF does that have to do in this situation every other thing is negotiated including ring size, glove size, weight, etc.. but this one thing MANNY hides behind you all eat up like preschoolers (that's being mean to preschoolers b'c even they'd understand they're both taking the same test)...

Take the test Manny and then take your ass beating

That's the order of things to come for all you Pactards...

Floyd Mayweather Jr himself stated “I gave Pacquiao a chance, up to 14 days from the fight. But my new terms are all the way up to the fight. They can come get us whenever, all the way up to the fight, random drug test. That’s what it is,” Mayweather was quoted as saying.

Mayweather Jr has made clear that the United States Anti Doping Agency (USADA) will decide when the testing is carried out. All testing should be random up to the day of the fight, “I fail to realise the problem as both of us will be subject to these rules”.

Mayweather Sr, was asked about his recent statement of having reservations regarding his son fighting a southpaw. “It does not matter what stance Pacquiao fights, my son will never fight him”.

Who the hell are you fat guy! Your guy is a two face clown, using PED as a scapegoat to PAC. I knew this fight will happen but not this year. PAC has a lot of credit and consider other fighters. Probably I can fight you.

I don't take anything away from the guy as a boxer. He is fantastic and if he can destroy Manny Pacquaio like I believe he will his star rise into orbit. I woud even suggest Floyd retire. He will have nothing left to prove.

What excuses??  Given the recent history of boxing, how in the hell do so many people villify Mayweather for asking for Oylmpic style drug testing???

You know whats the truth?  If it were Mammy Pac asking for this tests, and Floyd making every excuse and setting limits, EVERYBODY (mostly non-black) would be charging Floyd for doping right now.  The verdic would have already been handed down.  "Floyd is a doper!".  "Take all his belts!"  "Ban him from boxing!"

You know it's the truth.
