Here's some advice, bring a pillow because Spinks may put you to sleep.  St. Louis is the only place that this fight could sell.

I don't know what book you are using, but Spinks is -500 and -550 at the two books that I use.  Not that I would advocate betting on Spinks at that number.  If you want to play Spinks in some fashion I would say bet him by decision when that prop comes out.

    So true.

Irish, I'd echo the sentiments of Fullbrights.  Your best shot is an over, or Spinks by dec bet, but even they may be a little too chalky for any value whatsoever.

Irish, I'm actually gonna have to echo the sentiments of Fullbrights and G8RB8 - I really like the over in this match up, and I really like Spinks to win by decision.

That said, have fun at the fight

I can't stand Spinks, but he will be too sharp for Verno.  A layoff of over a year isn't usually a good thing for a fighter who is 38 and headed for a fight with an awkward/speedy southpaw.

5dimes is offering the Spinks decision prop at -216.  There isn't a dog odds bet that provides value, so this looks like the best bet you're going to get.  Spinks doesn't have any power (no KO's since 2001), and Verno hasn't been KO'd since 1988, so the ITD prop doesn't seem likely even though it's offered at the tempting price of +439.  It wouldn't be the worst bet in the world to lay $100 on that decision prop since you're going to the fight.  After all, Spinks by decision is the logical outcome.

"The Jinx" on the Decision is all I can see here. Homecourt, & VP though likable, tough, Experienced and willing to go at CS, will find his legs giving out later on; while CS will still be circling on the outside, still in his yellow-jersey, still pulling a GregL as he stays on his bicycle and pecks his way to a points win. I'd even consider a CS via U.Dec if I can find it.

A2C nailed it, I agree with pretty much everything that he said.

Joel Casamayor just turned in a fight of the year performance. At this rate, boxing is so good right now, this one might even be watchable.

I know the decision seems the obvious play, but I am on Spinks -550. I personally consider it more likely that Spinks knocks the faded Phillips out than Phillips wins this fight in any fashion. These guys, A2C and Fullbrights, are who to listen to, but I would cover my bases and just watch Spinks win the fight.

That seems ultra cheap for Spinks by decision. Almost too cheap maybe. I'm likely making a decent sized play on the over, but I see no way Spinks gets beat.

Have Spinks SU and Spinks via Decision. With Alex, who's guy has always been stopped when beaten. I like Alex SU and at nearly a 300% ROI on the Decision.

If you are going to be at the fight and want to bet to for action, do a parlay of Cory Spinks by decision (-215) & Devon Alexander to win under 9.5 rounds (-161). 5dimes sportsbook had those odds when I checked. It would pay about $138 for every $100 wagered. Devon Alexander didn't KO DeMarcus Corley in the undercard bout of Jones vs Trinidad, but Corley took some big shots and came into the fight in great shape and has fought some good champions (Cotto, Judah). You could consider also parlaying Alexander by Decision (+298) with Spinks Decision, which would pay $483 for evey $100 (or bet both parlays, or possibly just Alexander by decision at nearly 3-1). Many options, lol. Make a choice and have fun. Good Luck!

Cory just brings the best out of you guys. I agree, don't give him his belts, give him the maillot jaune.

People call him "Cory Stinks" for a reason, he knows how to stink up the joint.  I don't ever think I have spoken with a boxing fan who really liked the guy.

Very nice hit on the Alexander decision play.  At least Callist and his 1600 meters did someone some good.

S!  My wireless cut out, I missed the end. CS got beat? Ok. I thought he was safe enough to get 7-5 or 6-6. But what do I know?

1 Parlay burned. 2 Parlays thru to AA & Ouma. The Alex SU closing on the (hopefully) knocked over big-truck.

    PROPers to any Verno backers.

My wireless didn't cut out, but I actually cut it off; lol.  I figured that if I gave him 7 rounds he would probably get credit for winning 9 in St. Louis, boy was I wrong.  Tough break.

Great call again on the Alexander decision play, hope Spinks didn't nix that parlay.  So you were able to bunch Spinks SU and Spinks by decision into the one parlay that lost, strange; JK.

Mixing in the FNF's upset for .38 units, .28 on CornB SU, .18 on CornB via Stoppage, both with AA.

Typo upstairs. Which happens when you have to jet out to find a bar w/ WiFi late at nite to try to see the end. Which I did not. That's 2 Parlays burned 2 thru. Now adding the above Parlay's to close on AA.
