B-Hop v Calzaghe is on! April 19th

I am really looking forward to this fight..Calzaghe opened as a 2/5 odds on favourite..That looks very skinny to me. Joe is a great fighter but there is a difference between beating good fighters in England/Wales and beating a living legend in Las Vegas..I think this will be a real close fight. I am going to take the value with B-Hop here at 15/8...

Bernard will throw one punch for every four that Calzaghe lands, he can't wrestle and foul this guy like Winky. He can't stop him. How does he win? Golden Boy special delivery?

I think you guys are SERIOUSLY underestimating B-HOP here..Calzaghe is being taken out of his comfort against one of the craftiest veterans in the business. B-HOP will stop Calzaghe from fighting his fight..I think B-HOP has a serious chance here...Wait and see...

I wouldn't rule out GBP hijinks either. But if you think Nard can't tie up Joe and make the fight ugly on the inside, I refer you to Calzaghe - Bika.

That being said, Bernard is FAR past his physical prime, much further removed than Joe. If I had any confidence in Ex's ability to throw more than 40 punches a round for 36 minutes, I'd be all over picking him as a 2-1 dog. He still might be slick enough to make Joe look stupid at points, but posing won't get the job done.

Both of them have iron jaws. Their will be and should be serious juice on the Over 12.

I agree, I don't see how anyone could take out -300 on Joe and I am a Calzaghe fan.  Bernard won't make Joe's 1st trip to the states an easy night, this is a close fight IMO.

benard has an impresive list of wins,did any one take a look at joe's.I love when british fighters come to usa and try to hype up the fight.Mayweather vs.hatton that was funny,that was experience.I love tom jones ,but joe your gonna get an ass whoopin.now please go look at their stats,please.You'll see what I mean.Also that 5hr.time zone diff,is a bitch.benard lured him in real good. Lets see what happens on april 19. bye now....

I can't call this one, and won't be betting on it most likely, but interesting to see the the odds are right around where they ended up when Bernard upset Winky.

The odds are similar to the Tarver line. The Winky line was even, maybe -115 Wright close to fight time.

Sorry roofdog, but in this fight Joe C is more like Floyd and Bernard more like Hatton.

If Bernard makes this the same as the Bika fight, then I'll gladly take my cash at -300 or whatever the decision prop ends up being. Hopkins will lose this fight the way he did his rematch with Taylor, by not working. This time he's facing a much more consistent guy with a better beard. He may land some sharp counters, and he'll have something to say to Larry Merchant after the fight, but he's not winning a decision.

At the Palms, Bhop was around +200 when he closed.  Maybe the online books were different, not sure because was only using casinos back then. I bet the over in that fight at -470 to win a G...Laughing that  was a pretty nerve racking night.

The Hopkins line online got up to +150 and higher. Never hit +200 online though.

lol, bhop said he wouldn't lose to a white boy!  thats funny stuff. big hopkins fan.  i had bhop vs wright +145.  hopkins been a dog since taylor 2.  should of beat taylor first fight, but to late.  seen joes last fight, was pretty good.  there is something with them england fighters don't match up to US fighters.   this guy really needs to retire.  i do see hopkins a stronger fighter and joe will throw a ton of punches.  why would hopkins be after this guy for so long if he didn't see a weakness in his game ??   haven't decieded to bet or just watch.

Tarver and Winky are his best wins Oscar and Tito cant fight @ that heavy of wght. Who else he beat? Echols?Robert Allen 3 times? All he did was talk shit and duck the tough fighters the 2 talented legit middle wghts he fought he lost RJ jr gave him a boxin lesson and JT beat him close fights but i thought he won both. Time difference? Do u think he is showing up the night before the fight?Last i heard JC was in the US who knows if he will not train here.B-Hopps will be out punched and out gunned  and i will love it

In Vegas, the UK guys just don't get it done.  Everyone and his dog saying the same stuff they say every fight......."BHop can't stay busy enough to win the decision."

Any fight involving "BHop" will not be pretty.  That's how he does.....just defensively frustrates his opponents, then he wins a few rounds with about 4 punches total, then he's ahead on the scorecard, and then he wins the decision.
 
I don't like the guy, but he's a goddamn expert at winning boxing decisions.
 
Hate to say it, but I see him doing the same damn thing to Joe C on April 19.......the more I think of it.

Only 2 things that could mess up "BHop."  They are:
 
1) Bad karma cause he ran his yap with his stupid (white boy) comments.
2) Bad karma if the public piles on his moneyline.
