How we test the DraftKings promo code
I've put the current DraftKings promo code through the Covers bonus testing process. Covers has our experts and users check the offer terms, redemption experience, withdrawal process, and the bonus's real value for new sports bettors. Here's how the latest DraftKings bonus scores against each of our testing criteria:
| Testing process | Description | My experience with the DraftKings promo |
|---|---|---|
| 1) Register a new, real account | A Covers expert or user completes DraftKings' actual sign-up process — account creation, ID verification, and geolocation check. | I timed my account setup at 1 minute and 25 seconds through the DraftKings app. I had no issues verifying my account or setting up geolocation. |
| 2) Deposit and bet | Deposit and place the minimum wager required to trigger the offer, tracking exactly how long it takes for bonus bets to land in the account. | I set up Apple Pay, and my $5 deposit was processed instantly. I bet $5 on the Blue Jays moneyline. They lost, but they credited my bonus bets right away. I didn't have to chase customer support. |
| 3) Confirm the bonus structure | For the current "Bet $5, Get $200 in Bonus Bets" promo, this means verifying the up-front release and each subsequent installment over the following 21 days arrives on schedule. | I got my first two bonus bets as soon as I placed my Blue Jays bet. I got the remaining bonuses on the weekly schedule via click-to-claim. |
| 4) Test the bonus bets | Place wagers using the bonus funds to confirm odds boosts, minimum odds requirements, and expiration windows work as DraftKings states in its terms. | I've had no issues using the bonus on different NFL wagers. I tried to combine one of the bonuses with a 50% boost DraftKings had for the season opener, but it wouldn't accept the bet. |
| 5) Attempt a withdrawal | Cash out any winnings generated from bonus bets to confirm there are no hidden playthrough requirements beyond what's disclosed. | I timed my withdrawal, and the winnings landed back in my Apple Pay account in 43 minutes. |
| 6) Cross-checked the terms and conditions | Compared DraftKings' official terms page with the promo copy shown to new users and flagged any discrepancies. | I didn't find any discrepancies from my experience. I tried using two bonuses on the same bet, but they vetoed that, just as the terms outline. |
| 7) Repeat the process on the DraftKings app and desktop | A second Covers team member repeats the same steps on the operator's desktop version. | Michael Hoad, another sports betting editor at Covers, also claimed the bonus. He had a similar experience to me, except he used his debit card for withdrawal, and it took him over two hours to get his money. |
Where Covers tests the bonus
The DraftKings Sportsbook welcome promo is geofenced to ensure that only new users in eligible states can create an account and claim the bonus. However, each state operates differently, as age requirements and betting limits can vary. To account for this, we tested the current DraftKings promo in the following states:
- Baltimore, Maryland
- Lexington, Kentucky
- Newark, New Jersey
Expert Insight
DraftKings Sportsbook is currently live in 27 states plus Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico — including all states listed above. We rotate testing across additional legal states (Colorado, Tennessee, Virginia, Louisiana, and others) throughout the year to catch regional differences early. We do not test from, or claim availability in, any state where DraftKings does not hold an active sports betting license.
Our testing scorecard for the DraftKings promo
Here's how the current DraftKings welcome offer scored based on our testing. Covers scores each category out of 10, taking points off for things like delays, confusing terms, or other technical issues.
| What Covers evaluates | DraftKings promo score |
|---|---|
| ⏲️ Redemption speed | 9/10 ⭐ - We received our initial bonus almost instantly after placing the qualifying wager. The additional bonuses arrived on time, as outlined. However, we wish the entire bonus had arrived at the same time. |
| ✍️ Terms accuracy | 10/10 ⭐ - Everything went exactly as DraftKings outlined in its terms. We found no hidden terms while claiming or using our bonus bets. |
| 🚀 Ease of use | 8.5/10 ⭐ - It took us under five minutes to sign up and claim the bonus in every test we ran. The bonus bets could be used on any sports market at any odds. However, the weekly allotment structure can be confusing for new bettors to track. |
| 💸 Withdrawal integrity | 9.5/10 ⭐ - DraftKings issued our money to our personal bank account via Apple Pay in 43 minutes of the request. The bonus bets had no wagering requirements, which helped speed this up. |
| 👥 Customer support responsiveness | 9/10 ⭐ - We tried all of DraftKings' customer support options. Its live chat is the best, connecting us to a real human within two minutes. We heard back from their email team the same day, while their phone support called us back the following day. |
| ℹ️ Responsible gambling tools | 9.5/10 ⭐ - We checked the Responsible Gaming Center after signing up. We liked that we could set personal spending and time limits right away, rather than waiting until we had already started betting. DraftKings also offers cool-off periods and self-exclusion options if we ever want a longer break. |
How and when we re-verify the DraftKings promo code
Sportsbooks regularly update their welcome offers, and DraftKings is no different. The Covers team retests the DraftKings promo code offer whenever it changes, updating this page's offer details, star rating, and our opinions on the promo if warranted. The "last verified" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent time a member of our team completed this full process, not just when the copy was last edited.

DraftKings promo code today: Bet $5, Get $200 in Bonus Bets
The latest DraftKings promo offer is a 'Bet $5, Get $200 in Bonus Bets + 3 Months of NBA League Pass' welcome bonus. The redemption process is simple, which is why DraftKings ranks as one of my top betting sites in October 2026.
DraftKings new-user bonus terms and conditions
You can get $200 in bonus bets via the latest DraftKings welcome offer. I've personally verified this new-user bonus. Here are the offer's terms, plus the qualifying steps below to activate it within five minutes.
- The DraftKings welcome offer is only available to new users in AR, AZ, CO, CT, DC, IA, IL, IN, KS, KY, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MO, NC, NJ, NH, NY, OH, OR, PA, PR, TN, VA, VT, WV, and WY.
- Make a minimum $5 deposit.
- Place a qualifying wager of at least $5 on any sports betting market.
- You'll get two $25 bonus bets after placing your qualifying bet, and then two $25 bonus bets every seven days for 21 days via a click-to-claim process.
- The stake is not included in any winnings derived from the DraftKings new-user offer.
- The bonus bets expire seven days from issuance.
- This DraftKings promotion, which also gives you access to a three-month free trial for NBA League Pass, expires on Nov. 29, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET.
Expert Insight
The NBA League Pass subscription automatically renews once the three-month free trial ends. At this time, you'll be charged the then-current price — $16.99 per month — until you cancel it before your monthly renewal date.
DraftKings offer changes: New bonus vs. the previous offer
The current DraftKings new-user offer increases the total value from $150 to $200. The payout structure remains the same: you receive the bonus in multiple $25 installments. However, the current offer issues eight $25 bonus bets over 21 days via a click-to-claim process, while the previous offer provided six $25 bonus bets over 14 days.
The other difference is that the current DraftKings Sportsbook welcome offer gives new users a three-month free trial to NBA League Pass. This add-on, which is valued at $16.99 per month, wasn't available with the last welcome promotion.
How to claim the bonus on DraftKings
Here are the step-by-step instructions you can follow to secure the latest DraftKings new-user promo:
Step 1: Sign up
Download the DraftKings app and click our exclusive link to start. Select the 'Sign Up' button and provide personal info, such as full name, address, email address, and phone number. DraftKings Sportsbook uses state-of-the-art 256-bit encryption to secure your information.
Step 2: Make a qualifying deposit
Make an initial $5 real-money deposit. I used Apple Pay, and my deposit was processed in under two seconds. You can also choose other top options like PayPal, Venmo, debit cards, or create an EDGE Boost account to have a dedicated sports betting wallet.
Step 3: Place a qualifying wager
Place a qualifying first wager of at least $5.
Step 4: Qualify for the DraftKings welcome bonus
You'll get $200 via eight $25 bonus bets. You'll receive your first two bonus bets after placing your qualifying wager, and then two $25 bonus bets every seven days for 21 days via click-to-claim. You'll also get a code to access a three-month free trial to NBA League Pass as part of this welcome offer.
Expert InsightIf you hit a problem while signing up for DraftKings Sportsbook, contact customer support. Live chat is the fastest route. It runs 24/7; just open the chat, state your issue, and have your account details ready.
An agent picked up in under two minutes for me. when I had an issue verifying my geo-location on the app. The agent fixed my incorrect home address after verifying my account, and I was able to finish registering my account.
The pros of the DraftKings promo code
Low investment
You only need to place a $5 wager to secure the bonus. This low qualifying wager makes the DraftKings bonus easier to maximize than second-chance promos that require up to a $1,000 initial wager to get top value.
Bet type and market flexibility
Since DraftKings lets you use the bonus across all sports and most markets, you can choose bets that match your strategy instead of forcing a wager that you're uncomfortable with, like a long-shot parlay.
Unique structure
DraftKings issues the bonus in equal portions over 21 days, letting you spread it across multiple future wagers instead of having to use it on one follow-up bet.
Automatic code for NBA League Pass
You also get a promo code to redeem a three-month free trial of NBA League Pass, worth $16.99 per month.
The cons of the DraftKings promo code
Here are my complaints about the current DraftKings new-user offer:
Stake is removed from winnings
When you use the DraftKings bonus bet, the stake isn't returned with your winnings; only your bet's profit is paid out.
Not ideal for serious bettors
You can find more valuable welcome promotions at several other U.S. sportsbooks in October 2026, including BetMGM and Fanatics. High-stakes bettors may prefer one of these larger first-bet or deposit-match offers instead.
Spaced-out allotments
If you use your first two $25 bonus bets right away, you'll then have to wait weeks to receive the remaining installments.
Fixed bonus bet sizes
Each bonus bet is fixed at $25. I wish DraftKings allowed users to split bonus bets into smaller amounts.

Expert Verdict
As of October 2026, I rate the DraftKings offer highly for new bettors because it combines a low $5 qualifying wager with a bonus that’s spread over three weeks. Between the lines: You’ll get two $25 bonus bets after placing your qualifying wager, plus two additional bonus bets every seven days for 21 days. I love this format because it gives bettors more time to use the offer and get familiar with DraftKings over three weeks. Other sportsbooks offer larger welcome bonuses, but are usually 'deposit match' or 'first bet match' offers that require a lot more money upfront to maximize. The DraftKings welcome offer has no such issue, making it a top-tier choice for beginners or financially savvy bettors.

How to maximize your DraftKings welcome promo
Taking full advantage of DraftKings Sportsbook promos is simple. However, maximizing its value may not feel as straightforward. This is why I've broken down how to get the most out of your DraftKings welcome bonus:
Get your feet wet
Since the bonus comes in multiple portions, I suggest using this as an opportunity to explore different betting markets. Take your time, browse different sports, and research various bets in those sports. This is a quick way to figure out which markets fit your betting style.
Know your odds
I suggest reading our sports betting guides to gain a basic understanding of popular bet types and how to analyze odds. A knowledgeable bettor is better equipped to understand risk and make informed wagers.
Choose low-risk markets
No matter your preferred sport, identifying low-risk betting markets can increase your chances of success. I recommend not putting too much on a single wager, as you don't want all your eggs in one basket. Luckily, the DraftKings bonus structure allows you to have multiple swings at a successful follow-up.
Avoid influencer bets
Sportsbooks often partner with influential figures, who then create personal bets for users to tail. For example, DraftKings has linked up with LeBron James, promoting his NFL wagers throughout the football season. Some influencer-backed bets may be priced less favorably, so compare the odds before blindly backing them with your money.
