NFL Power Rankings: Week 8

Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos widened the gap between them and the field in this week's edition of the Power Rankings. But don't look now, Peyton's old squad, the Colts now led by Andrew Luck are on fire and on the rise.

The 49ers enter a much needed bye week after getting smashed at Denver. It's their worst seven-game start since 2010. Rematch against St. Louis at home on deck.

The Chiefs are back to .500 after an 0-2 start with the next three games all winnable ones before hosting Seattle. The Chiefs 1-6 ATS L7 home games.

The Eagles move up despite a bye week and now the slate gets tough as six of their last 10 games are on the road with three against all NFC division leaders.

New York's three-game winning streak looks like a façade after consecutive losses. The Giants enter their bye week three games out of first place in the NFC East.

The Jaguars are finally into the win column, but remain in last place although the gap has shrunk quite a bit. Jacksonville is 3-9-1 ATS L13 games after a win.

Power Ratings can be used as a baseline for relative spread index to compare current or future match-ups between two teams. The relative spread does not account for non-statistical factors like home-field advantage, recent injuries, game time decisions, rivalries, publicity, and weather.
