-25 Alabama
The Crimson Tide remain at the top of the rankings after a 25-point thrashing of the Hokies in the season opener. Logan Thomas was just 5-of-26 for 59 yards against Nick Saban's defense.
2 4 up 2 1-0-0
(1-0-0)
-24.5 South Carolina
The Gamecocks pounded the Tar Heels in Week 1, gaining 228 yards on the ground, averaging 6 yards per carry. Perhaps what was most impressive was that the USC defense was dominant despite Clowney playing at less than 100 percent due to a stomach virus.
3 3 same 1-0-0
(1-0-0)
-24 Oregon
The Ducks ran for 500 yards and seven touchdowns in Week 1, winning by a 63-point margin. Oregon doesn't appear to be any worse for wear despite the loss of head coach Chip Kelly.
4 2 down 2 1-0-0
(0-1-0)
-23.5 Ohio State
The Buckeyes failed to cover against Buffalo, and Urban Meyer wasn't satisfied with the way his team played in the second half. OSU committed two turnovers against the Bulls, and a penalty nullified a Braxton Miller fumble on his own 1-yard line in the third quarter.
5 6 up 1 1-0-0
(0-1-0)
-22 Texas A&M
The Aggies won big over Rice, and Johnny Manziel tossed three touchdowns in the second half. He continued to make headlines for all the wrong reasons though, taking an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for taunting, that prompted Kevin Sumlin to take him out of the game.
6 8 up 2 1-0-0
(1-0-0)
-21.5 Clemson
The Tigers upset Georgia in Week 1, and they don't see another ranked opponent until mid October when they host Florida State.
7 7 same 0-0-0
(0-0-0)
-20 Stanford
The Cardinal owned one of the fiercest defenses in the country in 2012 and with eight starters returning, it should be more of the same this year.
8 10 up 2 1-0-0
(1-0-0)
-19.7 Louisiana State
The Tigers have to be encouraged starting the season versus a ranked opponent and coming out with a double-digit victory. Their next three games are at home versus unranked teams.
9 9 same 1-0-0
(0-1-0)
-19.5 Florida
Jeff Driskell looked good in the first game of the season, completing 17-of-22 passes for 153 yards and a touchdown. It was the Gators running game that was really impressive though, rushing for 262 yards and averaging 5.5 yards per carry.
10 5 down 5 0-1-0
(0-1-0)
-19 Georgia
Not only did the Bulldogs lose to Clemson in the first game of the season, but they also lost their top receiver Malcolm Mitchell.
11 12 up 1 1-0-0
(1-0-0)
-17.5 Louisville
Teddy Bridgewater threw for 355 yards and five touchdowns in the Cardinals' Week 1 blowout win over Ohio.
12 11 down 1 1-0-0
(1-0-0)
-17 Florida State
Jimbo Fisher has announced that Jameis Winston will be the starting quarterback for the Seminoles, and he's got some big shoes to fill replacing E.J. Manuel.
13 14 up 1 1-0-0
(1-0-0)
-17 Texas
The Longhorns didn't have any trouble with New Mexico State, scoring 56 unanswered points after the Aggies opened the scoring.
14 15 up 1 1-0-0
(1-0-0)
-16.5 Oklahoma State
The Cowboys were slow to get going, but they came on in the second half to cruise to a 21-3 victory. Holding the Bulldogs to just three points is quite an achievement for this defense that couldn't stop anybody last year.
15 16 up 1 1-0-0
(1-0-0)
-16 Oklahoma
The Sooners defense pitched a shutout in Week 1, in a 34-0 victory over the Warhawks.
16 17 up 1 1-0-0
(1-0-0)
-15.5 Michigan
Devin Gardner was 10-of-15 for 162 yards and a touchdown, but he was picked off twice in his debut as quarterback for the Wolverines. He'll need to be better against Notre Dame next week.
17 24 up 7 1-0-0
(1-0-0)
-13 Washington
The Huskies dominated Boise State from start to finish and Bishop Sankey was an absolute beast in the season opener.
18 20 up 2 1-0-0
(1-0-0)
-12.5 UCLA
The Bruins offense scored at will at home in Week 1, with quarterback Brett Hundley tossing a pair of touchdowns and running in two more.
19 19 same 1-0-0
(0-1-0)
-12 Southern California
The Trojans won convincingly on the road in Hawaii and they return home for what should be another easy game, as they host the Washington State Cougars in Week 2.
20 22 up 2 1-0-0
(1-0-0)
-11.5 Wisconsin
The Badgers did what they were expected to do, completely dominating an inferior opponent in Week 1. But we won't really learn much about this team until they play Arizona State in Week 3.
21 13 down 8 1-0-0
(0-1-0)
-11.5 Notre Dame
The Irish jumped out to an early lead against Temple, but they failed to establish control only scoring once in the second half, ultimately failing to cover as big home favorites.
22 21 down 1 1-0-0
(0-1-0)
-11 Nebraska
The Cornhuskers did not look impressive just barely getting past Wyoming at home, winning by a score of 37-34.
23 27 up 4 1-0-0

-10.75 Northwestern
The Wildcats secondary terrorized Cal quarterback Jarred Goff, picking him off three times with two of those returned for touchdowns.
24 38 up 14 1-0-0

The Hurricanes' top-tier recruiting class is already paying dividends, as Miami steamrolled FAU in Week 1, winning 34-6.
25 33 up 8 1-0-0

-10 Baylor
The Bears offense was firing on all cylinders against Wofford, scoring 69 points in a blowout win over the Terriers. It was the highest points total recorded by Baylor since 1929.
