As long as Republicans continue to appease guys like Limbaugh, Hannity, Rove, etc, they cannot win.  Been saying this for about seven years now.  They just don't get it.

Wisconsin Republicans have apparently figured it out when they kicked Rove out of their State this week.  Told him to take his money and go away.

Limbaugh may be the biggest money earner but he's also the biggest azzhole and everybody knows it.

Can we all agree George Carlin nailed it years ago...

carlin was a prophet...

and by the way obama thanks you for watching hannity and listening to rush... it handed him a 2nd term...

Goose,

I disagree with you on a few things here...

GOPs dont appease the talking heads... the talking heads give them what they want to hear...  they dont want hear the truth and certainly did not during the GW years... so fox "news" and the other talking heads spared them from reality...

but I wouldnt lump them all together...

Rush is the man... I say this because he knew how to exploit and have them completely eating out of his hand as he had the monopoly on it in the 80s and 90s...  But he recognized that there was herd of lemming just waiting for a shiny object to catch their eyes and follow and have been doing so ever since... this is just another step over the cliff that has been going on for decades...

I view Rove as intelligent and unlike the current GOP actually had good ideas and strategy to give the GOP an advantage...  the problem is that he is now connected and by some even scapegoated for the debacle that was the gw bush presidency...  wisconsin GOPs probably kicked out the one of the sharper knives in the drawer, but perhaps he is getting duller in his old age and not the man he was more then a decade ago...

hannity appeals to the angry, psychotic passionate, disrespectful but thinks hes justified, overly emotional drama queen archetype of the GOP party...  he isnt the only one...  Rush comes across more like he is telling a story and cracks a few jokes along the way...

hannity is an out of control maniac screaming into a microphone that anything that is not in his extremist vision is the end of the world, america, etc...

oreily is probably some where in between... he acts like he is reporting the news and gives his own commentary and opinion... he seems to have some personality beyond spewing propaganda, but he comes off as a "hot head"

ever wonder where the phrase "U mad..." comes from?

I guess where I would lump them all together is that they all contribute to the propaganda and talking points prescribed for  the lemmings follow...

That way they can talk in terms of  "we" and "us" because it is a tell tale sign that independent thinking is not occurring...  the herd probably can answer for each other because there is no personal critical thinking to do otherwise...

really crazy stuff here for these americans that may not think what north koreans think... but seem pretty similar in how they think

Further to your question, DL, people like Rush do not help the Republican's cause. He's a flamethrower just like morons on the left like Ed Schultz. How Rush has so much influence on the party is a mystery. Might also be a reason why the Republicans are losing elections on a national scale. Just my opinion.

you should watch the full interview...

I would be lying if I didnt admit that I respect their techniques in breaking other's down...  winning both the logical/reality discussion and laughing as they send their attacker in a tail spin to lose  the emotional part of the discussion... resulting in a complete meltdown at times...

oreily tries so hard to desperately to portray them as "obama voters"

when the fact is that they are capitalists who own their own businesses and with their wealth and influence donate to their community...  and business doing well and making money means more charity...

oreilly and principal look absolutely clueless....

Can not win what, exactly?

GW Bush won 2 terms.

In 2004 Tom Daschle was thrown out and the R's had 55 Senate seats.

Since 1946, the president's party has almost invariably suffered losses in one or both chambers of Congress. The one exception: the 2002 midterms.

Oh, and Rush was front & center for the Republican takeover of Congress in 1994.

Oh, and today Republicans fully control 26 state legislatures and have 30 Governors.

I don't normally defend 14 but GWB did win 2 terms even if he lost the popular vote in 2000. A win is a win.

I do like how 14 was able to relay why the GOP was so successful in mostly showing 2004 elections. Team Romney thought the electorate would resemble 2004 but were shocked when it did not and was even more diverse then in 2008 despite obvious population and demographic shifts. How did that prediction work out? The GOP has a big advantage in non-presidential year elections as simply put their base of old white people vote no matter what. The Democratic base of young and minorities are not as consistent voters so off year electorates are much more favorable to the GOP. This is a huge reason why I don't see the dems taking the House in 2014.

Then it would seem to me that listening to Rush and following him would be a strategy to for the GOP to lose elections...

So the fact that so many people follow him and listen to him appears that there are alot of people that want to contribute to GOP losing elections...  I think beck, fox"news" are a part of this phenomenon also...

But it seems like the GOP is intentionally going out of their way to ensure that they lose elections...

and Rush thanks you for the attention

I think you are correct that if the people on the right follow clowns like Rush, the Republicans will lose elections. I don't agree with your statement about the GOP intentionally going out of their way to lose elections. The Rush followers are not the reason for any election loss, it's more likely that people like Rush push away the all important Ind. vote and even those on the left looking for a reason to vote conservative.

As I stated before, I don't like or listen to the man. I don't listen to talk radio at all and rarely watch news on TV. I've been in Mexico all week and the only news channel is CNN. Not a fan, but Erin Burnett (sp?) is pretty good.

Oh and Beck is just crazy....I think we agree.

You proved his point by throwing out numbers like 1994, 2002 and 2004.

As for the state legislatures, it has much more to do with re-drawing the states' district maps than popular support. The sooner they realize that, the better for them...

ok we agree that GOPs following Rush results in them losing...

where we disagree is that it is intentional...

so then is it that the GOP are Ignorant?

and just are not aware that they are engaging in a strategy that is losing them elections?

I personally dont think the GOP are Ignorant... even if they appear Ignorant...

My theory is that early 21 century bush years, Fox "News", oreily rush, hannity etc were used to shelter the base from the reality...  allowed them to hold their tongues from any scrutiny or critical thought

but when obama won, it gave the GOP base an indulgence to then fire away at obama in every and any way possible... and fabricate any possible petty spin to go completely bananas over until the next talking point is prescribed to them... and they still do this...

and rather then talking solutions or supporting a GOP candidate to win the election, they chose a failing strategy of attacking obama with no solution or candidate then mindlessly voting for anyone but obama and opposing anything and everything obama did...

This was not going to win over the independents, moderates and obama voters looking to switch...  This is where we also agree that the GOP backing Rush actually loses them votes... but they continued this strategy anyways...

I perhaps we differ in our views that the GOP is Ignorant to the fact that it is a failed strategy... but my thinking is that they knew what they were doing was a failed strategy but were so overcome with emotion that they did not care... just wanted to vent that into the next anti-obama talking point prescribed to them by rush/beck/fox"news" etc...

so they could not control their emotions of anger and outrage that a black/muslim/kenyan/terrorist/hitler/antichrist got elected in a huge landslide and instead of engaging in a prudent strategy have spent years and year crapping their pants in a temper tantrum...

Perhaps the GOP is Ignorant, but I think they are not level headed enough to make good decisions with political strategy...

Do you disagree with my assessment?
